South Hamilton, Massachusetts, June 18, 2007- The Fidelity Investments Jumper Classic welcomes Bombardier Skyjet, a provider of innovative private jet services including the Jet Card and on-demand charter, as a new sponsor. Bombardier Skyjet will sponsor the Opening Ceremonies on the final day of the competition. Opening Ceremonies mark the beginning of a spectacular afternoon of the most exciting of equestrian sports - Olympic-level show jumping - on Sunday, September 9th, 2007. Thousands of people from all over New England flock to the event to watch some of the top riders from around the world compete.
Hosted by Frances Rivera, Co-Anchor of 7NEWS Boston, the Bombardier Skyjet Opening Ceremonies start with the grand entrance of show officials riding onto the Coldwell Banker Previews Grand Prix Field in a carriage pulled by Belgium horses and driven by Al Craig of the Topsfield Fair. After introductions of the officials, the Boston Park Rangers Mounted Troops demonstrate ceremonial horsesmanship as Color Guards, while high above the field, Skydive New England air exhibition skydivers prepare to parachute from a plane. As the last skydiver lands on the field, carrying the American Flag, Jim Boggia, a musician from bluhammock Music will sing the National Anthem.
"This is a very special opening ceremony that combines a formal introduction to the day's events with the spectacular skydiving feat," says Melissa Lovasco, President of the Jumper Classic.
