Brunch with the Brits on Belmont Stakes Day

ELMONT, N.Y. -- Racing fans at Belmont Park will be able to watch and wager on Europe's richest and most famous Classic, the Epsom Derby, as part of an outstanding morning card from the United Kingdom on Belmont Stakes Day, Saturday, June 6.

Simulcasting of races 2 - 7 from Epsom Downs in London will begin at 8:55 a.m. (EDT), with post time of the Investec Derby set for 10:45 a.m. As well, races 1 -7 from Musselburgh in Scotland will be simulcast beginning at 9:20 a.m.

Gates open at Belmont Park at 8:30 a.m. on Belmont Stakes Day, with post time for the first of 13 live races set for 11:35 a.m. The 141st running of the Grade 1, $1 million Belmont Stakes is scheduled to go off at 6:27 p.m.

Belmont Park will also be offering simulcasting from Churchill Downs, Monmouth Park, Finger Lakes and Hollywood Park later in the afternoon on Belmont Stakes Day.

The simulcast of the Epsom card begins with the Investec Woodcote Stakes at six furlongs, followed by the Group 3 Princess Elizabeth Stakes at 1 1/16th miles, the Investec "Dash" Heritage Handicap at five furlongs, the $1,750,000 Group 1 Epsom Derby at 12 furlongs, the Investec Surefooted Stakes Handicap, also at 1 miles, and the Investec Distinctive Stakes Handicap at six furlongs.

From Musselbergh Racecourse in Edinburgh, fans can wager on the five-furlong Edinburgh Castle Conditions Stakes, the 1 9/16th mile Tradesman's Derby Handicap, the five-furlong Scottish Sprint Cup Heritage Handicap, the five-furlong Scottish Sprint Consolation Stakes, the nine-furlong Balfour Kilpatrick Selling Stakes, the seven-furlong Scottish Racing Your Better Bet Handicap, and the Stephen Hay & Associations Apprentice Handicap at a mile and three-quarters.

Past performances for the UK races will be available free on nyra.com for fans to download.

Win and place, exacta, trifecta, superfecta and rolling Pick 3s will be offered on the UK races. Handicapper Scott Finley will analyze both cards in the Daily Racing Form, and dissect the Epsom Derby on NYRA's Talking Horses on Saturday.
