Jewelry making workshop October 18
Fort Worth, Texas, August 21 – The National Cowgirl Museum’s Cowgirl University taps into the creative energy of students when it offers its jewelry making workshop Saturday, October 18 at the Museum in Fort Worth.
Students will learn the basics of bead stringing from jewelry artisans Christine Hudson and Amy Moorhouse, who will share their techniques for building unique and wearable works of art.
“This workshop has been a popular one for our students because it provides an opportunity for them to creatively express themselves as well as have some pride in wearing their own handiwork,” said Cowgirl U Program Director Chad Isham.
The workshop celebrates the resourcefulness of women found throughout the history of the American West who used their ingenuity and talents to cultivate and capture the beauty of the natural resources that surrounded them through art.
The workshop begins at 10 a.m. and ends at noon. Costs are $55 for Museum members and $65 for non-members, including supplies. To register, go to http://www.cowgirlu.org or call 817-509-8967.
