Caitie Hope Awarded High Point Trophy at the Wachovia Showplace Spring Spectacular II

Wayne, IL - June 21, 2008 - The weather was perfect for a day of showing in "hunter land." The horse show was going full blast as the junior riders competed for top honors at the Wachovia Showplace Spring Spectacular II.

The Hope family was the sponsor for both the High Point Junior Hunter Trophy for week I and Overall High Point Junior Hunter Trophy for weeks I and II. In a twist many would call fate; the Hope family presented the award to their very own daughter, Caitie Hope.

"It feels really cool to win an award like this. I finally got everything together; usually I have at least one thing wrong but to finally get it together feels really good," Hope said.

The competition was more intense than usual. Wachovia Showplace Spring Spectacular II Horse Show did a great job bringing in many top name barns from across the country for the competition.

"With such intense competition this week, it just makes the win so much more special," said Hope. "What I really like about this horse show is the atmosphere. It is extremely exhibitor friendly. It is nice to have all the people around."

This is an award that does not come easily for riders. A massive amount of hard work and training goes into winning an award like this. For Caitie, she rides at least six horses a day.

"I usually ride more, but my jumpers are not here. At this show I just fly from ring to ring and horse to horse, so I don't have time to get tired," said Hope.

In addition to the High Point Junior Hunter Trophy for week I, there is also the Overall High Point Junior Hunter Trophy for week I and II sponsored by the Hope family. Caitie walked out of the ring after receiving her trophy and had to turn around and come back to present the next award to fellow competitor Laura King-Kaplan.

"It feels really good to win this award. It means I have come a long way," King-Kaplan said.

Tomorrow is the last day of the Wachovia Showplace Spring Spectacular II Horse Show. The hunter rings will conclude with the Adult Hunters and the $2,500 NAL Adult Hunter Classic sponsored by Runaway Farm and the Carroll Family.
