Callari Auto Group Signs on as Equestrian Idol Sponsor

WESTPORT, CT - January 26, 2008 - The EQUUS Foundation is pleased to announce The Callari Auto Group as a new sponsor of its upcoming Equestrian Idol event on Saturday, February 9, 2008, at the Winter Equestrian Festival in Wellington, Florida.

"We are very grateful to the Callari Auto Group and its dealerships - BMW of Darien, MINI of Fairfield County and VOLVO of Westport - for its generous support as an underwriting sponsor of our Equestrian Idol event", said Lynn Coakley, EQUUS President. Funds raised from the event will be used to award grants to charities that use the horse to benefit the public, promote horse welfare, and elevate the equestrian sport.

Since its early beginnings in 1967, The Callari Auto Group has been involved with many equestrian events featuring polo, dressage, and show jumping, - most recently as sponsor of the Callari Cup, the trophy awarded to the winner of the $25,000 Fairfield Grand Prix held each June in Westport, Connecticut.

Since then, Founder Felix Callari, along with his daughters, Flavia and Paula, have grown the business into what it is today, building on Mr. Callari's commitment to the highest level of business ethics and the caring way in which he nurtured long standing relationships with employees, associates and three generations of customers.

BMW of Darien was recently award the prestigious 2007 Center of Excellence Award, presented annually by BMW of North America to recognize sales leadership with the highest level of customer satisfaction - one of only 31 of the 338 BMW centers nationwide. The Volvo dealership celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2007, and has won the Dealer of Excellence Award from Volvo North America many times. MINI of Fairfield County won second place in a worldwide competition focusing on brand history and product knowledge.

The Callari Auto Group has been giving back to the public for over 40 years, as host of Susan B. Komen "Drive for the Cure" and contributing sponsor of Tiny Miracles, which provides support to mothers and families of pre-mature babies and approximately 10 annual charity golf tournaments in Fairfield County, including the Stamford Red Cross, Darien Red Cross, Juvenile Diabetes, Links for the Cure, In It Together for Cancer Research, Stamford EMS, Norwalk Hospital, and Stamford Hospital.

In order to raise funds, The EQUUS Foundation is seeking individuals and businesses to assist with their gracious generosity. Donations are tax-deductible to the full extent of the law. Tables of six are available as follows: Gold: $5,000, Silver: $3,500 and Bronze: $2,500. Individual seats are $250 per person.
