The Canadian Horse Journal 7th Annual "Celebration of Horses" Photo Contest

Sidney, BC -The "Celebration of Horses Photo Contest" is back! 2007 marks the seventh edition of our popular contest, presented by Canada's favourite national horse magazine, THE CANADIAN HORSE JOURNAL. Each year about this time, equines from around the country start posing and looking their most photogenic, and horse owners start shooting prize pics of their favourite horse, pony, mule, or donkey!
Canada's horses of all breeds, disciplines, shapes and sizes are ready for their photo op, so don't disappoint them. Enter your best photos for the following five categories:
1: "Stable Stork" - Your beautiful baby pictures (please only include foals from 2007)
1A - Foals of 2007
1B - Mare & Foal
2: "All Things Equine"
2A - The Love of Horses: Depicting the human-horse bond
2B - Horses in Action: Working photos, winter scenes
2C - Personality and Humour: Show off your horse's character

This year we are pleased to announce that Creekside Studio is our First Place Sponsor. For the fourth straight year, Creekside Studio will be providing the stunning equine artwork of Joan Larson. Joan is a horse enthusiast and an award-winning artist, and her work is a true expression of our special passion for horses.

CONTEST GUIDELINES
Photographs will be judged on artistic and technical merit. They should be clear, well-lit, and of good quality. No photos should depict unsafe situations. Please include the age, sex, and breed of the horse(s), and the name, address, telephone number, and email address of both the owner and photographer. More detailed information about the horse is always appreciated!
CONTEST RULES
1.. Amateur photographers only;
2.. A maximum of three previously unpublished photos per category. Please clearly indicate the category of each photo.
3.. Send colour prints, unmounted and unmatted (max. size 8" x 10"). If retaining the original print, send a good quality reprint (no inkjets). Digital photos submitted as prints should be printed on photographic paper.
4.. To submit digital files by email, please indicate "Celebration Photo Contest" in the subject line, and email to: news@horsejournals.com. Digital photos must be high resolution (eg: 4" x 6" at 300 dpi or 21" x 14" at 72 dpi). Be sure to include in your email the information requested in the Contest Guidelines above.
5.. Photos will become the property of this publication and will not be returned. Entrants consent to have their submissions published in THE CANADIAN HORSE JOURNAL and on our website at http://www.horsejournals.com and elsewhere as determined by the publisher.
6.. Winners will be selected by judges chosen by this publication. Prizes must be accepted as awarded and are not redeemable for cash.
