Catie Hope of Telluride Farm Enjoys Another Win at Ledges Winter Classic

Roscoe, IL - January 14, 2008 - Up and coming junior rider Catie Hope, who rides under the tutelage of Diane Carney, continued her indoor success at the Ledges Winter Classic, held at Ledges Sporting Horses in Roscoe, IL, from Jan. 10-13.

Riding in the Large Junior Hunter division, Hope piloted her mount Caped Crusader swept all five first place ribbons in the over fences classes and the under saddle class to take home the championship. All of Hope's scores were an 85 or higher.

"This new partnership between Catie and Caped Crusader is great. They get along so well, they understand each other, and they have an incredible consistency that is really unbeatable," Carney explained. "In a short time, they have had amazing results, so I'm truly looking forward to see where they will go this year."

She also found success in two hunter classics - the $1,000 Junior class and the $1,500 Junior/Amateur class - with Caped Crusader. She was second in the Junior Classic aboard Carmachon, as well.

Hope was victorious aboard Carmachon, owned by Kathleen Hope, in the USEF Show Jumping Talent Search equitation medal with a score of 88.

Carney, based out of Hampshire, IL, from her Telluride Farm, has been both an active participant and influential trainer in the hunter and jumper community for many years. Her contributions to the industry extend to the many clinics that she teaches every year, in addition to those that she hosts annually for U.S. Show Jumping Chef d'Equipe George H. Morris and top hunter/jumper trainer Don Stewart Jr. Carney is also a driving force behind the United States Hunter Jumper Association's High Performance Hunter Committee, which seeks to develop a program that will bring the lost art of tradition and horsemanship back to the show ring.

Carney and her students of Telluride Farm will compete next at the Lake St. Louis Winter Show, which will be held from Jan. 16-20.
