Charlotte Jumper Classic Hosts Second Annual Rider Welcome Reception

Charlotte, NC- April 13- The second annual Charlotte Jumper Classic Rider Welcome Reception was held last Thursday, April 7, at The Green Uptown in Charlotte, NC. Held in the open air courtyard at a park in downtown Charlotte, the party hosted all of the riders, sponsors and local dignitaries of the community.

After Mr. Robert Johnson, President of the Charlotte Jumper Classic, gave his welcome speech, guests were invited to dine on extraordinary food. A Southern cuisine buffet was offered, as well as delightful passed hors d’oeuvres, a fully stocked bar and an ice cream sundae station.

The highlight for many was the entertainment for the party. The Island Boys band played reggae music for everyone to enjoy, and many took to the dance floor.

Notable guests included: Paige Johnson, Michael Morrissey, Cara Raether, Katherine Miracle, Judy Garofalo, Lauren Hough, Robin Sweely, Marshall Field, Todd Minikus, Debbie Stephens, Bruce Duchoissois, Chris Kappler, Michael and Ellen Whitaker, Beezie Madden, McLain Ward, Aaron Vale and Gene Mische.

The Welcome Reception was held to greet the riders that competed in the second annual $300,000 Charlotte Jumper Classic on April 8-10. This prestigious event hosted three special classes on April 10, which featured three Grand Prix classes starting at 2pm – the $25,000 Charlotte Junior Jumper Classic, the $25,000 Charlotte Amateur Owner Classic, and the capper to this extravaganza, the $150,000 Grand Prix of Charlotte Round Two For the Charlotte Bobcat Cup, Member Event of the AGA Series of Show Jumping.

The Charlotte Jumper Classic is the signature fund-raising event for the Bobcats Charitable Foundation. The foundation offers financial support throughout the community to assist in providing the resources needed to plant seeds of hope in our children and allow them to blossom into tomorrow’s successes. Their mission is to enrich the quality of life for those in need – with a focus on children and youth – and build bridges between communities. The foundation supports organizations serving children and youth with an emphasis on literacy, fitness, wellness and exposure to the arts.
