On Sunday, May 18th from 9 a.m.-1 p.m., Diana Tuorto of Stanhope, NJ will be holding a book release party for her newly released children’s novel, Janie’s New Legs. It will take place at Somerset Hills Handicapped Riding Center (83 Old Turnpike Road) in Oldwick, NJ during their annual horse show. This free event will feature horse-related door prizes and readings from local children’s authors.
Janie’s New Legs, which is appropriate for ages 8-14+, will be available for sale for $12 in limited quantities (order forms will be provided if books sell out). All proceeds from books sold during this event will go to Somerset Hills Handicapped Riding Center.
Janie’s New Legs is the story of Silver, a shy pony, rescued from abuse and neglect, and Janie, a fragile young girl, paralyzed from a car accident. Janie meets Silver at a handicapped riding facility, where she goes to escape the constant confinement of her wheelchair. An extraordinary friendship soon develops and the two gradually begin the road to healing and recovery together.
