Cindy Silva Wins 2007 NRCHA Non Pro Limited World Championship

Cindy Silva, of Paso Robles, California, won her first National Reined Cow Horse Association World Championship in the Non Pro Limited. To do so, she teamed up with Snappy Chicaria, by Smart Chic Olena and out of Snappy Skeet.

Silva was quick to give the credit to her horse, “It felt good. I just had to trust him, and he came through. We got a good cow, so I was very fortunate.” The composite score of 429 was comprised of 218 and 219 in the rein work and boxing, respectively.

The newly crowned champion has only been showing for three years, and now trains with Mark Luis. The Paso Robles trainer noted, “Cindy is a great student, tries really hard, and rides everyday. That’s what it takes to get to this level, and that’s what she has done.”

Cindy plans to give Snappy Chicaria a long rest after the trip back to California.

The Non Pro Limited Reserve Championship went to Todd Lambert, who marked a 427.5 on his horse, Gunna Be Crazy. They marked 212 in the rein work, and 215.5 in the boxing. Gunna Be Crazy is by Cutaways Gun Crazy and out of Pork Salad Anny. Lambert and Gunna Be Crazy also ended the year as the 2007 NRCHA Non Pro Limited National Champions.
