Conservation Community in Hampshire to Expand World-Class Equestrian Center
Equestrian News Release
Training, boarding and living at Serosun Farms
Hampshire, Illinois – December 17, 2007 – Serosun Farms, a 410-acre conservation and equestrian community south of Huntley in Hampshire, will expand its state-of-the-art barn and training facility in the spring of 2008 to become one of the most prominent boarding and training facilities in the Midwest.
The main facility, which currently has 18 stalls, will include over 36 stalls, fitness and veterinary services, an outdoor jump course, and indoor and outdoor arenas. Other amenities include heated aisles during the winter, full laundry facilities, eight grooming/wash stalls, and a full dressage arena.
“Serosun Farms is a horseman’s dream,” says Jane Stickland. “Our facilities are complemented with the finest board and care, as well as top level fitness and training programs.”
The facility will focus on hunter/jumper horses but will also support dressage and eventing horses and provides full service boarding and grooming services for the busy, competitive rider. A high-end horse breeding operation focusing on hunter/jumpers for grand prix competitions is also located on-site.
“We want to show everyone how to integrate a high-end horse operation with a sustainable community,” says developer John DeWald.
The equestrian operation is part of the conservation community, which is preserving nearly three-quarters of its 410 acres for open space, an organic farm and restored prairie. High quality hay will be raised on-site and horsemen will have over eight miles of trails through the farm, woodlands and prairies. With 114 home sites, Serosun Farms will provide a living example for land management, sustainable development, farming and community life.
