Students to receive $50 gift certificate from The Maverick

Fort Worth, Texas, April 22 -- The National Cowgirl Museum's Cowgirl U will combine the pleasures of a world-class spa resort with its sought after curriculum of cowgirl lore and life when it welcomes students to its annual Women's Retreat September 24-27 at the Resort at Paw's UP in Greenough, Montana.

Located in the beautiful Blackfoot Valley, the 37,000-acre Resort at Paw's UP offers a full list of luxurious options, that, when blended with a unique combination of horseback riding, ATV adventures and a chance to meet awe-inspiring National Cowgirl Hall of Fame Honorees, the Cowgirl U Women's Retreat is not to be missed.

"Cowgirl U is coming back to The Resort at Paw's Up after its great response in 2007," said Cowgirl U Program Director Chad Isham. "Their accommodations are unbeatable, the scenery incredible and our past attendees have called their experience at Paw's Up a treasure. We encourage interested persons to enroll as soon as possible as this event usually fills months in advance."

Cowgirl U will celebrate the artistry of its honorees with 1981 honoree and sculptor Pamela Harr, as well as 1990 honoree Betty Sims Solt, who will share cowgirl insights through her poetry. Potter Maria Martinez, a 1998 honoree, and Pulitzer Prize winner Willa Cather, will also be profiled.

Retreat guests will begin their experience with the always enjoyable Cattle Baroness Dinner Thursday, September 24, and then, for the next three days, will take in pottery work shops, horseback riding clinics leading to a fun competition and of course, the all important opportunities to share and chat during evening entertainment and dinners created by Executive Chef Wes Coffel.
