Cutting Horse Event arrives in Paso Robles Tomorrow

For the second year in a row, cutting horse competitors from near and far will descend on the Paso Robles community for the Golden Hill’s Auto Center PCCHA Futurity which will take place October 22 – November 2 at the Paso Robles Event Center. Over 600 horse and rider teams from nearly a dozen states and Canada will compete for close to $1m in prize money during the show’s 12-day run.

City officials have welcomed the cutters with open arms. “The City looks forward to the return of the Pacific Coast cutters,” said Paso Robles City Manager, Jim App. “The PCCHA and its members are an enthusiastic and positive expression of our ranching heritage here in Paso Robles. Their presence reminds us of our history, the area's healthy cattle ranching industry, and provides an opportunity for our community to meet people from across the Untied States who share their love of ranching and horsemanship.” He added, “We hope the 2008 event will bring even more top horses, trainers and riders to broaden the experience.”

Once again, the headline sponsor of the 2008 PCCHA Futurity is Golden Hills Auto Center of Paso Robles. Since 1991, Golden Hills Auto Center has been a leading auto dealer on the Central California Coast and the #1 selling GMC Dealership. Owners Mark Borjon and Fred Roy are proud to play a major role in backing PCCHA events.

“We’re extremely excited to continue the upward momentum in supporting these events in 2008,” said Borjon. “We consider this a significant opportunity to have premier events such as this here in our town. We’re proud to have the best riders and horses in the cutting industry in attendance.”

The PCCHA Futurity includes preliminary competition beginning on October 22nd that builds over the week to the grand finale – the championship finals on October 31st - November 2nd. And, Halloween will also be fun-filled as many exhibitors, and even horses, will be in costume!

Spectators are encouraged to attend the exciting competition and take advantage of the fantastic shopping at the western trade show, making the PCCHA Futurity a great outing for the entire family.

Admission and parking are free. Competition gets underway at 8am most days at the Paso Robles Event Center at 2198 Riverside Blvd. in Paso Robles. For more information and the show schedule, visit http://www.pccha.com.
