Original Coble Dairy Farm To Be Sold at Public Auction

LEXINGTON, N.C., Feb. 23 /PRNewswire/ -- On Thursday, April 7, the remaining acreage and improvements of the Original Coble Dairy will be sold at public auction.
Early in the last century, George Coble created one of America's premier dairy farms near Lexington, NC.
The farm consisted of over 4,000 acres and maintained a herd of more than 1,000 head of dairy cattle. The barns that are located on the property were built by German Prisoners of War during World War II.
It was named Maegeo Farm for Coble's wife, Mae, and himself.
Coble was a pioneer in the dairy industry. His vision caused the industry to grow and prosper throughout the United States.
His farm remained active until 1961 when he sold the majority of the farm to a local trucking executive. The current farm consists of 470 acres, including the large barns and beautiful lakes.
The auction is being conducted by the Nationally Recognized Auction Marketing Firm of Iron Horse Auction Co., which has been selling real estate at auction for more than 20 years.
Iron Horse Auction created the most modern computer technology for the sale of real estate currently used in the United States.

The auction will be held at the Lexington Golf Club, 200 Country Club Blvd. in Lexington.
