Deeridge Farm Grows List of Championships at Manchester Summer Festival Horse Show

East Dorset, VA - July 23, 2008 - Deeridge Farm had another fantastic week competing at the Manchester Summer Festival Horse Show that ran July 16-20. Deeridge Farm has two bases, with locations in East Aurora, NY and Wellington, FL.

Louis Jacobs had a super week, coming in second in the $30,000 Battenkill Grand Prix on Kachina and second in the $10,000 Giorgio Armani/Michael Kors Welcome Prix. In addition he was fourth in the Junior/Amateur Owner Jumpers on Soleil and fifth in the Amateur-Owner Jumper Classic.

Jacobs was one of six in the Sunday grand prix jump-off. He was first to go in the jump-off and ended up double clear. "I tried to put down a good round. Kachina is such a good girl. I had one time fault in Lake Placid, so it really felt good to get back in the ring and put in a good trip," he explained.

For his success in the grand prix and the welcome prix, Jacobs received gift certificates for the local outlet stores in Vermont. "It's really nice that the sponsors support the show and the participants. It says a lot about a community, I think," Jacobs added.

Vermont was also a great place for the whole Jacobs family to come together to compete. "We really enjoy it up there as a family at this time of year," Jacobs said. "There are lots of classes for the kids, and they do a great job with the show."

Charlie Jacobs continued his success in the jumpers last week. In the Level 6 Jumpers, he rode Olivia Slutzky's O'Lily to a first and third place finish, making them reserve champions. He was also first in the High Junior/Amateur Owner Jumpers on Pia, resulting in a championship, and was second in the High Amateur-Owner Jumper Classic.

Reserve champion in the Adult Amateur Equitation 46 and Over, Kimberly Jacobs put in stellar rounds and was awarded first, second and fifth-place ribbons. She was aboard Charles Jacobs's horse Oxbow.

Katie Jacobs Robinson was reserve champion in the Amateur-Owner Hunter 18-35 aboard So You Say. The pair picked up two firsts, second, fourth and fifth-place ribbons.

Grace Robinson was a star in the pony hunters. On Sunday Sneakers, owned by LSJ-LLC Corporation, she rode to two firsts and eighth-place ribbons and she was reserve champion. Champion aboard Deeridge Farm's Jouet, Robinson was awarded four firsts and a seventh in the Children's Hunters.

For Melissa Jacobs and Dakota, owned by Alice Jacobs, they showed with great results in the Children's Hunters. They picked up a first and two third-place ribbons. In the $500 NAL/WIHS Children's Hunter Classic, she was seventh. She was ninth in the $1,500 NAL/WIHS Children's Jumper Classic on Missy Clark's Ramone. In the younger Equitation she rode Checkmate, owned by Alexandra Block, where they received a sixth-place ribbon.

Phoebe Robinson competed on two horses in the junior hunters. She rode Red Dragon in the Small Junior Hunters and was awarded a third and two fifth-place ribbons. In the Large Junior Hunters, Robinson piloted Maxim to top ribbons.

Charlotte Jacobs and Lawando competed in the equitation last week. In the USEF Hunter Seat Medal, they rode to a fifth-place finish. In the tough ASPCA Maclay Horsemanship class, Jacobs came in seventh.

Next week, Deeridge Farm will compete at the third week of the Vermont Summer Festival on July 23-27, 2008.
