Wellington, FL – January 30, 2007 – The riders from Deeridge Farm started off the 2007 winter show season with multiple tricolor ribbons and top placings in the Winter Equestrian Festival (WEF)/PBIEC Inaugural Horse Show on January 24-28, 2007.
Katie Robinson and her 12 year old Dutch Warmblood mare Blush took the championship in the Amateur-Owner Over 35 Hunter division. They won the first two over fences classes, were third in the under saddle and were fifth in another jumping class.
Robinson is entering her second WEF with Blush. "I love her. She’s really sweet and kind. I’m very fortunate that I never have to worry about her getting scared or spooking," she remarked. "She’s really calm, really super sweet. She’s just a really nice, nice mare."
In the High Amateur-Owner Jumpers, Charlie Jacobs and the nine year old Dutch Warmblood mare Pia raced to the win in the $2,500 Power and Speed class on Friday. Their win in the class tied them for the championship in the division.
In the same division, Charlie rode Midnight Lady to top ribbons against stiff competition that included his brother Louis on Caucalis, who was third in the Power and Speed class.
Melissa Jacobs piloted Alpenglow to a third place finish out of 42 competitors in the Children’s Hunters 14 & Under over fences class. The pair also picked up a seventh place ribbon in the Equitation 12-14 under saddle class.
Charlotte Jacobs rode Verona to second place in the Equitation 11 & Under under saddle class.
Deeridge Farm will compete again next week at WEF in the Nutrena/Western Hay Wellington Classic, CSI 2*, on January 31 to February 4, 2007.
