DFG Stables Continues Winning Winter Season

Aiken, SC January 12, 2009— Home town favorite Daniel Geitner and team DFG wrapped up the final week of competition at the Aiken Winter Classics with another string of triumphs.

Held at Highfield’s Event Center the winter classic finale began with DFG’s head trainer-owner Daniel Geitner repeating his Championship in the 1st Year Green Working Hunters with the Elizabeth Tarumianz owned Bonafide. “We’re off to a great partnership!” an exuberant Geitner said. Daniel garnered numerous top ribbons in the hunter rings including both Champion and Reserve Champ in the Baby Green Hunter division aboard the Cornelia Buckley owned Point Taken [Duncan] and Janet Peterson’s Double Intent respectively. However, the proud trainer stated the best moments of this series were his client’s accomplishments.

Moving over to the jumper arena Geitner kicked off the wins there with a very close race in the $10,000 Mini Prix, finishing 2nd aboard Neville the CDS Stables’ entry. While owner rider Brian Gjetley captured the 9th place with Piks Pistelero in the prix and later won the Junior- Amateur Jumper Championship. Daniel picked up the tri colored championship ribbon with Kyle Register’s new horse Tatabra Quantum in the 0.95 meter jumpers. And JF Gagne took The Bus for owner Michael Kocher to top honors of the 1.15 meter jumpers.

Other members of the DFG team repeating Championship victories this week included Catherine Stumberg with a pair of Reserve Champ spots, first in the 0.95M jumper division aboard sister Sara’s horse Snook and then in the Adult Amateur jumpers with Riverdance. The friendly competition between barn mates Laura Regan with Wiedan and Randy Hannold aboard Grandisimo did a fun reverse this week as Randy claimed the Championship spot and Laura the Reserve.

Back at the hunter rings several of the DFG family recaptured division ribbons. Alexis Reece is a true believer winning both the Pre Adult Equitation and Hunter divisions with Reason to Believe. And Elizabeth Butterworth made headline news again with Sportspage as the Large Pony Hunter section Champion. Meanwhile, Laura Regan brought Orient de Mesille to the top of the Pre Green 3’ division and Molly Donohue rode Kimberly Quinn’s entry Sinatra to center stage of the Children’s Hunter Horse [15-17] and a 3rd place finish in the NAL WIHS Children’s Hunter Classic. Also placing 5th in that classic was Cara Dodson riding Don Callisto for owner David Wright.

Daniel and the DFG family will next head to Ocala, Florida to compete at HITS. For more information DFG Stables please visit their web site at http://www.dfgstables.net.
