Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games 2010 Picks DigiKnow as Interactive Agency

CLEVELAND, Oct. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- DigiKnow, Inc. has been selected as the Interactive Agency of Record for the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games 2010, which will be held at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington.
"We needed to find a firm with experience - communicating our event internationally, selling merchandise online and creating and making available a worldwide online ticket program," said Jack Kelly, CEO of the World Games 2010 Foundation, Inc. "DigiKnow has all of those skills."
DigiKnow is an online sports marketing pioneer, building the first Web site for the Cleveland Indians in 1995 and growing its sports practice over the years to include the Cleveland Browns, Pittsburgh Penguins, Cleveland Cavaliers, the Keeneland Association and various other sports and entertainment organizations. According to its president, King Hill, DigiKnow's blend of strategic and creative thinking and knowledge of technical systems has put it in a unique position to support the fast-paced world of sports and sport events.
"Marketing sports organizations and events online requires a blend of skills from marketing to publishing to promotion to information technologies," Hill said. "We're excited to put those skills and our experience to work for the world's top equestrian competitors and to help build excitement for the Games."
DigiKnow is beginning the online program by developing a new Games Web site and, over the next four years, will include an array of online marketing initiatives, creative approaches and technical systems.
"We have an unusual situation with the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games," Hill said. "A global fan base, eight different disciplines, changing technologies and the challenge of combining promotional communications with functional communications and, ultimately, with event coverage."
The Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games 2010, to be held at the Kentucky Horse Park, September 25 to October 10, 2010, are the world championships of the eight equestrian disciplines recognized by the Federation Equestre Internationale (FEI), and are held every four years. The eight disciplines are dressage, driving, endurance, eventing, para-equestrian, reining, show jumping, and vaulting.
