Dressage Series at 2007 Winter Equestrian Festival Features Qualifiers for Pan Am Selection Trials and $50,000 Cunningham Challenge

WELLINGTON, FL – January 3, 2007 – The Stadium Jumping, Inc. Dressage Series will present three dressage shows during the 2007 Winter Equestrian Festival (WEF) in Wellington, Florida. The show names and dates are: Cosequin Wellington Dressage, February 8 – 11; Zada Enterprises, LLC Florida Dressage Classic, February 22 – 25; and Zada Enterprises, LLC WEF Dressage Classic CDI-W CDIY, March 22 – 25.

The dressage shows will be held at the Palm Beach Polo Equestrian Club and will feature a variety of highly competitive classes from Training Level through Grand Prix, including qualifiers for the USEF High Performance (HP) Collecting Gates Farm/USEF Grand Prix National Championship and the Collecting Gaits Farm/USEF Intermediaire I National Championship/Pan American Games Selection Trials; the North American Junior/Young Rider Championships (NAJYRC); and the Great American Insurance Group (GAIG)/USDF Regional Championships.

Each show is a member of the Brentina Cup Program, USEF/Markel Young Horse Dressage Program, and the $50,000 Cunningham Insurance Dressage Challenge presented by Great American Insurance Group, and each offers qualifying competitions for these programs.

Special highlights of the upcoming dressage series also include the $15,000 Cosequin Dressage/Show Jumping Spectacular, Rolex FEI World Cup™ Dressage qualifying competition, and the North American Danish Warmblood Association (NADWA) High Point Awards Program competition.

The first two dressage events in the series are held alongside the world-class show jumping and hunter competitions at the multi-ring Winter Equestrian Festival. The third event, the Zada Enterprises, LLC WEF Dressage Classic CDI-W CDIY, is a Concours Dressage Internationale (CDI), which warrants that the Palm Beach Polo Equestrian Club will host exclusively dressage competitors for the series’ spectacular finale. The Zada Enterprises, LLC WEF Dressage Classic CDI-W CDIY is one of only 12 CDIs scheduled to be held in the United States in 2007.

Honorary Chairwoman Helen Z. Steinkraus and a first-rate show crew is in charge of the 2007 WEF dressage series for Stadium Jumping, Inc. At all three shows, Show Manager Klaus Fraessdorf will be at the helm with Show Secretary Mary K. Silcox and Event Coordinator David Distler. Beth Davidson will handle hospitality and Brian O'Connor will announce. An impressive roster of judges from the U.S., Canada, Mexico, and Europe will officiate.

Cosequin Wellington Dressage Features $15,000 Cosequin Dressage/Show Jumping Team Spectacular

The 2007 dressage series at WEF kicks off on Thursday, February 8, and runs through Sunday, February 11. Cosequin Wellington Dressage features the $15,000 Cosequin Dressage/Show Jumping Team Spectacular on Saturday, February 9. In this exciting competition, a dressage rider and a jumper rider pair up and compete as a team, with the dressage rider tackling a jump course and the jumper rider riding a Third Level dressage test. The team accumulating the top combined score wins in this popular event, which always draws an enthusiastic crowd of fans.

Dressage aficionados will also have the opportunity to view contenders competing in the qualifiers for the 2007 Collecting Gaits Farm/USEF National Grand Prix Championship and the 2007 Collecting Gaits Farm/USEF National USEF Intermediaire I Championship/ Pan American Games Selection Trials. The championships and trials will be held at the Dressage Festival of Champions presented by Paul Miller Inc. and PhelpsSports.com on June 14-17 at USET Foundation headquarters in Gladstone, New Jersey. The Pan American Games will be held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on July 13-18, 2007.

The FEI Intermediaire II will be held on February 8 with entries from the Open Division as well as riders garnering qualifying points for the GAIG/USDF Regional Championships and the Brentina Cup Program. The Brentina Cup Program for U.S. riders aged 18 to 26 culminates at the Dressage Festival of Champions at Gladstone in June.

Cosequin Wellington Dressage also features the first qualifying competition for the Cunningham Insurance Dressage Challenge presented by GAIG, which guarantees $50,000 to the horse/rider combination that wins all three Grand Prixs at the 2007 Winter Equestrian Festival. The rider who meets the challenge will be awarded 50% of the purse and the owner of the horse will receive 50%. On Friday, February 9, two qualifying Grand Prixs are available. Riders may choose to compete in Class 80 FEI Grand Prix Open or Class 81 USEF HP FEI Grand Prix. Only the horse/rider combination with the highest score from these classes (ties remain) will be considered as qualified to continue in the challenge at the next dressage show at WEF.

Cosequin Wellington Dressage is also a Region 3 (Alabama, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, Tennessee) Designated Qualifying Competition for the 2007 North American Junior/Young Riders Championships, which will be held July 31 through August 5, 2007, in Lexington, Virginia. Young Riders (YR), aged 16 to 21, will have the opportunity to compete in the FEI YR Team Test, FEI YR Prix St. Georges, and FEI YR Freestyle as qualifiers for the NAJYRC as well as the GAIG/USDF Regional Championships. Junior Riders, aged 14 to 18, will contest the FEI Junior Team Test, FEI Junior Individual Test, and FEI Junior Freestyle as qualifiers for the NAJYRC as well as the GAIG/USDF Regionals.

Cosequin Wellington Dressage also includes qualifying competitions for the USEF/Markel Young Horse Dressage Program with tests for 4, 5 and 6 year olds.

Officiating at Cosequin Wellington Dressage will be topnotch judges: Janet Brown-Foy (I); Hilda Gurney (I); Marianne Ludwig (I); Michael Poulin (I); Lois Yukins (I); Jeanne McDonald (C); Susan Woods (R); and William Woods (R). The Technical Delegate is Nancy Holsing.

Zada Enterprises, LLC Florida Dressage Classic Showcases Grand Prix #2 in the $50,000 Cunningham Challenge

The second of the three-event dressage series at WEF runs from Thursday, February 22, through Sunday, February 25. Excitement builds in the $50,000 Cunningham Insurance Dressage Challenge presented by Great American Insurance Group as riders qualified from the previous show try to stay in the game and move forward towards the ultimate victory. On Friday, February 23, Zada Enterprises, LLC Florida Dressage Classic offers one qualifying Grand Prix – Class 80 FEI Grand Prix. However, if this class is split per USEF rules, the horse/rider combination with the highest score from class 80A and 80B will count. Only the horse/rider combinations with two qualifying wins in the 2007 WEF dressage series at this point are qualified to continue in the challenge at the next show.

Zada Enterprises, LLC Florida Dressage Classic will also feature competitions ranging from Training Level through Grand Prix for the Open, Adult Amateurs, Juniors, and Young Riders divisions with GAIG/USDF Regional Championship qualifiers at every level. The FEI Intermediaire II, a qualifier for the GAIG/USDF Regional Championships and the Brentina Cup Program will be held Thursday, February 22. In the USEF/Markel Young Horse Program, the 4-Year-Old USEF, and 5- and 6-Year-Old FEI Final Tests will be held on Saturday, February 24.

Highlighting Sunday’s program will be the musical freestyle competitions. Spectators will have the opportunity to watch riders dance to the music in the USDF Freestyle Test of Choice class for horses competing at First through Fourth Levels; the up-and-coming riders in the FEI Junior Freestyle and the FEI Young Rider Freestyles; the small tour horses competing in the FEI Intermediaire Freestyle; and the ultimate dressage ballet in the FEI Grand Prix Freestyle.

Officiating at Zada Enterprises, LLC Florida Dressage Classic will be Lorraine MacDonald (I); Marilyn Heath (S); Sue Madden Mandas (S); Brenda Minor (S); William Solyntes (S); Susan Roberto (R); and Heiner Jeibmann (R). Technical Delegate will be Linda Lester.

Zada Enterprises, LLC WEF Dressage Classic CDI-W CDIY

Wrapping up the 2007 dressage series from Thursday, March 22, through Sunday, March 25, is the finale event – the Zada Enterprises, LLC WEF Dressage Classic CDI-W CDIY. President of the event is Stadium Jumping President Eugene R. Mische.

This show is a USEF High Performance qualifying competition for the 2007 Collecting Gaits Farm/USEF National Grand Prix Championship and the 2007 Collecting Gaits Farm/USEF Intermediaire I Championship/Pan American Games Selection Trials. The show is also a Rolex FEI World Cup™ Dressage Qualifier and an NAJYRC Non Designated Qualifier.

The CDI-W (World Cup) and CDIY (Young Riders) Class List is as follows: the FEI Prix St. Georges CDI and FEI Grand Prix CDI-W will be held on Thursday, March 22; the FEI Intermediaire I CDI, the FEI Grand Prix Special CDI, and the FEI Young Rider Team Test will be held on Friday, March 23; the FEI YR Prix St. Georges will be held on Saturday, March 24; the FEI Intermediaire Freestyle, the FEI Grand Prix Freestyle CDI-W, and the FEI Young Rider Freestyle will be held on Sunday, March 25.

The show also includes qualifying competitions for the GAIG/USDF Regional Championships at all levels from Training Level through Grand Prix, and qualifiers for the Brentina Cup Program, USEF/Markel Young Horse Dressage Program, and the North American Danish Warmblood Association (NADWA) High Point Awards Program. NADWA presents an annual award to the horse/rider combination earning the highest score for a single ride (USDF Championship classes are excluded). The owner, rider and horse must be NADWA members.

An exciting finish to the $50,000 Cunningham Insurance Dressage Challenge presented by Great American Insurance Group is also anticipated for this event. On Thursday, March 22, the final competition will take place – Class 81 FEI Grand Prix-CDI-W USEF HP. If the horse/rider combination wins this final Grand Prix, and has also won the previous two qualifying Grand Prixs, they will be declared the winner of the $50,000 Cunningham Insurance Dressage Challenge presented by GAIG.

Officiating at the Zada Enterprises, LLC WEF Dressage Classic CDI-W CDIY will be an impressive list of judges: Gary Rockwell (O) USA, President of the Ground Jury; Bernard Maurel (O) FRA; Elizabeth McMullen (O) CAN; Peter Holler (I) GER; Joan Macartney (I) CAN; Jessica Ransehousen (I) USA; Joachim Orth (C) MEX; Jane Weatherwax (C) USA; Cynthia Canace (R); and Susanne Handler (R). Loretta Berg will serve as Technical Delegate. Lloyd Landkamer will be the FEI Chief Steward, and Dr. Steve Soule will attend as FEI Veterinarian.
