Ellen Toon and Attache Awarded Good Sportsmanship/Grand Champion Amateur Owner Hunter

Bridgehampton, NY - September 4 - JT Farm was a dominating force last week at the Hampton Classic Horse Show. The show ran from Aug 24-31, 2008. Riders from JT Farm were spectacular as usual. JT Farm is led by trainer/rider Jimmy Toon. JT Farm has two locations in South Salem, NY and Wellington, FL.

Leading the way with another successful week in the hunters was Ellen Toon. Toon and her horse Attache received a very special award at the Hampton Classic Horse Show. Toon was presented with the Good Sportsmanship/Grand Champion Amateur Owner Hunter award.

"It is a really good feeling winning this award, it does not happen often," said Toon.

Toon is aware that many people put in a lot of time on her behalf. A lot of people play an important part in order to help Toon reach her goals and win an award like this. She also acknowledges the quality and skills of her horses.

"There is so much work that goes on. It is everything and everyone; the people who train me, my groom. Fortunately my horses are pretty made and Attache is very made," said Toon. "Basically we had six weeks off; we've been off since Lake Placid. We do a little warm up show and I don't jump the horses at home very much. They know what their job is. Then we just get ready at the show. We do a little schooling the day before and that's it."

Toon competed with fantastic results in the Amateur Owner Hunters 36 and Over. She competed aboard two of her horses, Attached and Invincible. Riding Attache, the pair came away with two firsts and three second-place ribbons in the division, making her champion.

With her other horse, Invincible, Toon rode to another set of great ribbons and was reserve champion. She picked up first, second, two thirds and fourth-place ribbons in the Amateur Owner Hunters 36 and Over.

JT Farm trainer/rider Jimmy Toon competed in the First Year Green Hunters on two horses. The first horse Toon rode was Francesca Giammalva's Cayero. Toon and Cayero were awarded third, fourth, fifth and ninth-place ribbons in the division. On JT Farm's horse Tayfoon, Toon picked up a seventh-place ribbon.

Talented child rider Brianne Link continued her winning ways last week on two of her ponies. Aboard her pony Asgard Mercury, Link was awarded a first-place ribbon after winning a jumping class and a third-place award in another class in the Small/Medium Pony Hunters.

On another one of her ponies, Link competed in the Large Pony Hunters on Foxcroft Veronsky. Aboard Foxcroft Veronsky, Link picked up two tenth-place ribbons in the extremely competitive division.

Coming off of a winning week at North Fork, Carolyn Lichtenberg received some good ribbons in the equitation and hunters. Lichtenberg competed in the equitation and medals aboard JT Farm's I Toon. In the USEF Hunter Seat Medal, Lichtenberg was seventh. She rode to two ninth-place finishes in the USEF Show Jumping Talent Search and the WIHS-Hunter Phase.

In the hunters, Lichtenberg rode JT Farm's horse The Boss. They competed in the Large Junior Hunters 16-17. In the division, Lichtenberg piloted The Boss to some very nice ribbons. They gathered a range of awards including second, third, fourth, fifth and sixth-place ribbons.

Young rider Francesca Giammalva did some winning of her own last week as well. Giammalva won a Children's Hunter 14 and Under class. She rode her horse Cayero to the win. In the Children's Equitation High division, she was fourth and fifth over fences. Giammalva came away with a fourth-place award in the Marshall and Sterling Children's Medal and was ninth in the Robert Hoskins Junior Medal.
