LEXINGTON, KY — August 22, 2006 — This updated version of the English to Spanish equivalency dictionary has nearly tripled in size from the original. The Ultimate English/Spanish Dictionary for Horsemen includes more than 65,000 industry-specific, topically grouped word and phrase entries commonly used in the horse industry. The dictionary, by Maria Belknap, features sections on feeding, health care, grooming, tack and equipment, and training. Additional essential elements include a “points of the horse” illustration labeled in both Spanish and English, regional variations, and a pronunciation guide.
Originally from Portland, Oregon, Maria Belknap began her love affair with horses, adventure, and travel while a young girl and has pursued these passions into adulthood. Belknap attended the Universities of Oregon (Eugene) and California (Santa Barbara) where she obtained degrees in Resource Management, Kinesiology, and Coaching. She ultimately settled in Southern California where she writes for the equine, adventure travel, restaurant and New Age markets as well as for television and film.
