Epson Piereville & Sharn Wordley Claim Victory at the $25,000 Fairfield Grand Prix

WESTPORT, CT - July 6, 2007 - Urged on hundreds of spectators and over 450 guests at the EQUUS Benefit Grand Prix Luncheon, Sharn Wordley aboard Epson Pierevile claimed the top honors at the $25,000 Fairfield Grand Prix on Saturday, June 30, 2007, the culminating event of the Fairfield County Hunt Club June Benefit Horse Show in Westport, Connecticut. Split seconds behind Wordley's time was Libby McKinney on Gun Du Desfi. Margaret Preston representing The Private Bank of Bank of America was on hand to present the well-earned blue ribbon, along with Flavia Callari representing The Callari Auto Group, who presented The Callari Cup.

Guests at the EQUUS Luncheon enjoyed a champagne reception, silent auction, and delicious buffet while watching 26 talented riders and horses performing at the highest level of competition. Thanks to the generosity of individual and corporate donors, including the Presenting Sponsor of the Grand Prix, The Private Bank of Bank of America, The Callari Auto Group, George N. Venizelos & Wachovia Securities, Fairfield Equine Associates, Chopard, Coca Cola North America, Evergreen Investments Funds, Hospital for Special Surgery, Newhouse Financial & Insurance Brokers and Torys LLP, over $200,000 was raised at the event.

"We are indebted to the Fairfield County Hunt Club for allowing EQUUS to be its endorsed charity and to the hundreds of individuals and corporations who made donations this year. We are especially grateful to Horse Show Co-Chair and EQUUS Board Member Margie Bondy and EQUUS Board Member George N. Venizelos who were, almost single-handedly, responsible for the fundraising effort. Special thanks is also due to Horse Show Co-Chairs, Tom Belden and Millie Foote", said Lynn Coakley, President, The EQUUS Foundation, Inc.
