Equine Entrepreneurship Courses Begin March 2

(College Station, Texas) – Small business owners with a need to train employees or learn for themselves the latest in retail sales and management techniques will find the Center for Equine Business Studies (CEBS) Equine Entrepreneurship Distance Learning Courses a convenient and economical solution.

The CEBS at Texas A&M University will offer “Sales in the Equine Industry” and “Managing the Equine Business” beginning March 2 and continuing through August 30. The sales course will focus on professional sales techniques in the equine environment. Students will develop sales skills through application of sales principles and realistic selling situations. Students interested in fine-tuning their management skills will find the management course helpful as it works to help students understand the economic principles of business management, as well as ways to identify the strengths and weaknesses of businesses. Course fees are $695 per person, although group discounts and CEBS membership discounts will apply.

“The current economic landscape is ripe for the individuals who want to take advantage of increasing their skills and marketability as potential employees or business associates,” said Dr. Blake Bennett, CEBS distance learning course instructor. “The job market is that much more competitive and in order to be a competitive candidate you have to have skills and practical knowledge that will make you the more attractive option.

Distance learning replaces the traditional face-to-face classroom with instruction delivered via the Internet. This allows students to participate in class activities at times convenient to their job and family obligations from any location with Internet access. The courses can be taken for continuing education credit and each course can be taken individually or as a part of a certification program. Upon successful completion of all five courses, the participant will be awarded a Certificate in Equine Entrepreneurship from Texas A&M University. Courses also include Managing the Equine Business, Marketing and the Equine Industry, Equine Entrepreneurship I and Equine Entrepreneurship II.

For more information regarding course discounts and enrollment, contact Dr. Blake Bennett at 972.952.9273 or email b-bennett@tamu.edu.
