Equine Extravaganza Expands to the Carolinas

Mark Your Event Calendars for the First Annual Equine Extravaganza Carolinas®: August 3-5, 2007 Raleigh, NC

Raleigh, NC, March 30, 2007: Save the date! Make plans now to attend the Carolinas’ first Equine Extravaganza®, anticipated to be the Carolina’s biggest horse happening of 2007. The North Carolina State Fairgrounds in Raleigh will host this all breed, all discipline horse expo and trade show August 3-5, 2007. Much like its northern counterpart, The Virginia Equine Extravaganza® to be held October 26-28, 2007 for the fourth year in Richmond, VA, the new event promises to unite the North and South Carolina horse communities in an event that will cater to their robust and eager equestrian audience.

Get ready for an action-packed three days of everything equestrian with over 100 clinics, demonstrations and seminars with nationally recognized trainers (in disciplines such as dressage, barrel racing, reining, driving, eventing, gaited horses, hunter/jumpers, and more). The Virginia and Carolina shows promise to showcase a uniquely different lineup of some of the best horsemen and horsewomen in the country.

“We strive to ensure that both the Virginia and the Carolinas shows offer exciting and unique programs for the attendees.” said Equine Extravaganza® president Vicki O’Hara,. “Our goal is to provide an exciting venue for learning, shopping and lots of fun for all equestrians, regardless of level or discipline.”

The inaugural Carolina features 2006 Road the Horse winner Stacy Westfall. Westfall is the only woman who’s won Road to the Horse and the only person to win the AQHA free style reining competition without a saddle or bridle. Westfall joins renowned trainers Julie Goodnight and Terry Myers, international dressage icon and former US dressage Olympian Stephan Peters. In addition Tommy Garland will defend his 2006 East Coast Trainer Challenge title and present clinics on horsemanship and Arabian showmanship. The rousing East Coast Trainer Challenge colt starting competition will take place each day of the event, with the winner named on Sunday.

This year’s inaugural Carolina Extravaganza will also feature “The Search for America’s Ultimate Horse Idol,” the “American Idol” of the equine industry. This talent contest for horses is part of a series of seven competitions at major expos throughout the country in 2007. The competition highlights the area’s most talented horses, as they challenge for a coveted title.

Whether you’re replenishing tack room supplies or shopping for the perfect trailer, Equine Extravaganza attendees will find what they need. “Shop till you drop” at the largest collection of equestrian vendors and trailer dealers in the Mid Atlantic region.

The crowning jewel of the Equine Extravaganza® will be the Friday and Saturday evening Equus Extraordinaire, a spectacular two-hour equestrian production spotlighting horses in a stage show fashion. Trick riders and horses, fast -paced, choreographed musical rides, vaulters, and celebrity horses will perform in an action-packed production. Separate tickets are required and will be available online (http://www.equineextravaganza.com) in spring, 2007. Tickets for the evening show are limited--don’t be left out.

Applications are being accepted for vendor space and for breed and stallion exhibitions at both locations, as well as for clinic riders. Mark your calendars now for both exciting events and double your expo experience! Visit http://www.equineextravaganza.com for more information.
