Wellington, FL- July 26, 2006 - The 17th Annual Jumper Classic, held from September 6 -10th in South Hamilton, MA, is proud to announce an event schedule that offers something for everyone at this year’s competition.
“Every year we add more divisions and classes that cater to all levels of competitors,” said Jumper Classic President, Melissa Lovasco. “Our goal is to keep growing the amount of prize money and classes offered so the Jumper Classic continues to attract the riders and horses in the country. These riders are what make this a marquis event that attracts over 10,000 spectators annually.”
Starting off the week’s events will be The Young Jumper division, sponsored by William A. Berry and Son, and The Masters Division, sponsored by The World. The Jumper Classic will offer Level 3 Jumpers that are sponsored by Sidelines Magazine and Der Dau. On Thursday at 6:30 p.m., the festivities will officially begin with a VIP Kick -Off Party, sponsored by Boston Common Magazine. The party will be held at Endicott College in the new Misslewood facility which is located right on the cliffs of the Beverly shores. The highlight on Friday will be the $7,000 Welcome Stake, a qualifying class for Sunday’s $75,000 Fidelity Investments Grand Prix.
Saturday will feature the final class for the Masters Division, sponsored by The World, the $2,000 Best in Show Low Junior / Amateur Owner Jumper Classic, the $2,500 SUCCEED™ High Junior /Amateur-Owner Jumper Classic, and the $2,500 Equine Insurance Services Future’s Classic. Saturday is also Family Day sponsored by Northshore Magazine. Activities are planned to entertain the whole family, and they include, drinks served by Polar Beverages and Dunkin’ Donuts, a cupcake decorating contest, sponsored by Eurostoves, face painters, dunking contest, potato races and much more. Spectators are also welcome to purchase tickets to The Lovelane Farm Charity Luncheon, which takes place in the VIP tent with proceeds going to support the Lovelane Farm Therapeutic Riding Program. Sunday, September, 10th will be the highlighted day of the week and will begin at 11 a.m. with musical entertainment provided by Boston Organ and Piano. The famous Laurent Perrier VIP Champagne Luncheon will offer an exquisitely catered four course lunch, with open bar, and exclusive ringside seating beginning at 11:30 a.m. All VIP tickets require reservations, and they do sell out fast. The OneSky Jet Network opening ceremonies will begin at 11:45 a.m. and will be hosted by 7NEWS co-anchor Randy Price, with the national anthem performed by the North Shore Music Theater Youth Performance Choir. Officials will then be escorted on to the Coldwell Banker Previews Grand Prix Field by Al Craig and his Belgian Horse Hitch of the Topsfield Fair and accompanied by the Boston Park Rangers Mounted Troops. Always a crowd favorite, Skydive New England will delight the crowd with an air performance that lands on the Grand Prix field just before the start of the $7,500 Mohegan Sun Speed Stake.
After the $7,500 Mohegan Sun Speed Stake, The Jumper Classic will then invite Kim Atkinson, editor-in-chief of Boston Common Magazine, on the field to judge the Jumper Classic’s traditional “Ladies Best Hat Contest.” Viewing of the Cyclone Car Club’s Antique Car Collection will also grace the field as the course is reset for the $75,000 Fidelity Investments Jumper Classic Grand Prix.
The $75,000 Fidelity Investments Jumper Classic Grand Prix is a member event of the American Grand Prix Association series. This class will host some of the country’s leading riders and horses who are in the quest to move up the ranks of the AGA standings. The highly anticipated event is sure to delight everyone that participates.

The Fidelity Investments Jumper Classic has become the premier equestrian and social event on the North Shore of Boston. It hosts some of the most successful equestrians in the world, including past Olympians. Riders with high hopes for the future have the opportunity to compete in the many amateur divisions offered throughout the week. The Masters Division makes The Fidelity Investments Jumper Classic a destination show for riders of all ages, from all over the country. The social scene is always a favorite at this unique venue. This year the featured VIP Party will be sponsored by Boston Common Magazine with over five hundred attendees expected.
An added feature for 2006 will be “Family Day” on September 9th. It will host a number of events sure to entertain children of all ages. They will be able to get their faces painted, visit with the Polar Beverage Bear and receive free Polar beverages, while the famous clown demonstrates some of his juggling. They will enjoy free pony rides, and enter in a cupcake decorating contest sponsored by EuroStoves, all while watching some of the country’s top horses and riders compete. Children under 13 will be free on this day, all other children will be $15.
Several Charity Luncheons are scheduled for Saturday, September 9th. Money raised will benefit Lovelane Farm Therapeutic Riding Center based in Lincoln, MA, and The Children’s Equitation Center, based in Ashfield, MA.
