EquiSpirit Aids Traveling Equestrians

Lexington, Ky., (Sept. 8, 2006) – The EquiSpirit Trailer Company has teamed up with USRider to offer an additional safety feature to its customers. EquiSpirit is including a one-year USRider Equestrian Motor Plan membership with the purchase of any trailer.

Over the past 20 years, Tom and Neva Kittrell Scheve have become well-known for their high-quality EquiSpirit horse trailers. As horse people, they have studied and learned about the needs of both owner and horse. As a result, they design their trailers to cater to the comfort and safety of the horses, in styles that are also convenient and safe for the owner.

“Just as Neva and I have specifically designed EquiSpirit horse trailers with the safety of horses and horse owners in mind, so has USRider designed and implemented their unique roadside assistance program,” said Tom Scheve, CEO of EquiSpirit. “Through the USRider membership, EquiSpirit customers will now get towing and roadside repairs for their tow vehicles and trailers, in addition to other valuable roadside assistance services.”

With an annual fee comparable to that of other roadside assistance programs, USRider offers the typical flat-tire repair, battery assistance and lock-out services, plus benefits designed with horse owners in mind, including towing and roadside repairs for tow vehicles and trailers with horses, emergency stabling, veterinary referrals and more.

Besides being owners of EquiSpirit Horse Trailer Company, Tom and Neva Kittrell Scheve also have three horse trailering books to their credit, including the nationally recognized textbook The Complete Guide To Buying, Maintaining, and Servicing a Horse Trailer. The Scheves have been promoting trailer safety since 1983 through their books, their continued articles in national magazines, and national clinics.

“Neva and I have followed the development of USRider since its inception, and we firmly believe in their dedication to helping horse owners on the road,” said Tom Scheve.

“We have openly shared equine trailer safety research and information for years,” said Mark Cole, managing member for USRider. “We commend EquiSpirit for the long-standing safety commitment they have made to their customers, and am glad that the USRider Equestrian Motor Plan can be a part of it.”
