Three Equitation Riders Win Saddles From Shaw Saddlery At Woodside Fall Finale

Woodside, California. The Woodside Fall Finale (Sept. 29 - Oct. 2) concluded Langer Equestrian Group’s seven show Woodside series with the Woodside Equitation Championships for Junior, Amateur and Pony Riders. Shaw’s Saddlery provided saddles to the winners, while Jake’s Place provided bridles for the second place winners. The top eight riders received embroidered vests.

Adrienne Dixon decided to make one more stop before heading east for the USEF Junior Medal Finals, and she decided that the Woodside Junior Equitation Championship would be the perfect final preparation. She handily won both rounds and graciously accepted the saddle she earned for her efforts. “The class sounded like fun and the courses were challenging. This was a great tune-up for Harrisburg,” said the high school senior. “This is so exciting to win a saddle.” Dixon is coached by her step-mom, Carrie Atkinson.

Amateur rider Tarni Bell was equally excited. “It is always fun to win a saddle. I am very lucky. My horse was just awesome,” said Bell after her decisive victory where she too won both rounds. Bell trains with John Bragg, but since he is at the Capital Challenge, assistant Jenny Davis took over. “She did a great job of helping me,” said Bell. “It is fun to have special classes in Northern California and the Horse Park at Woodside is in my backyard. This place is so beautiful; I love showing here.”

Bell is one of the top amateur riders in California, and she has garnered a number of impressive wins.

Taylor Siebel is becoming a very competitive pony rider, and her victory in the Woodside Pony Equitation Championship only furthers that. “This class is one of the best things I’ve ever won,” said the beaming thirteen year old rider, who also trains with John Bragg of Bridgeport Farms. “My pony is easy to ride and I was more excited than nervous about the class. I mainly do hunters, but I like equitation because it is so fun.” Siebel was in awe of the new saddle she won from Shaw’s Saddlery.

The Woodside Equitation Championships were the feature classes of the Woodside Fall Finale, the final of seven hunter/jumper shows at the Horse Park at Woodside. “We have had a great year,” said Horse Show Manager Chris Collman. “We had some very good riders in the Equitation Championships and this is a great way to end the year. The Horse Park is planning some improvements to the horse show facility before next spring’s shows. We are looking forward to making the 2006 shows even better.”
