Telluride Farm Continues Consistency in Show Ring at Ledges Fall Classic

Roscoe, IL - August 27, 2007 - The students of Telluride Farm, led by hunter/jumper trainer Diane Carney, produced another week of solid competition results at the Ledges Fall Classic in Roscoe, IL, from Aug. 24-26.

Catie Hope dominated in the Large Junior 15 & Under Hunters with her own Majic and Caped Crusader, owned by Alex Jayne. With Majic, Hope earned two seconds, a sixth and a seventh place over fences, as well as second place in the $1,000 Junior/Amateur-Owner Hunter Classic. Aboard Caped Crusader, she took two firsts and a third over fences and a first place under saddle. She and Caped Crusader won both the $1,000 Junior Hunter Classic and the $1,000 Junior/Amateur-Owner Hunter Classic.

Hannah Gorman competed for the first time in the Junior Hunters and jogged in every class. Riding Cactus in the Large Junior 15 & Under Hunters, she took a fourth and three fifths over fences and a seventh place in the under saddle. Cactus is owned by Carney. Gorman continued her success in the Small Junior 15 & Under Hunters on Ivoti, owned by Mr. and Mrs. Ken Gorman. The pair earned two fourths and two fifths over fences and a fourth in the under saddle class.

"Hannah has only ridden with me and the rest of the Telluride group for about two months, but she has made great progress in that short amount of time," Carney explained. "She's off to an incredible start."

Stephanie Pearson produced consistent, clear rounds for second, third and fourth place finishes in the Junior/Amateur Owner Jumper division. Riding Symphatico 3, owned by Carney, the pair finished just out of the top spot in second place in the Junior/Amateur-Owner Jumper Classic, finishing out the summer on a strong, positive note.

Victory in the Low Children's/Adult Jumper Classic went to Ginny Bartholomy and Decorated Song. In addition, the pair produced two second place finishes and one eighth place finish in the Low Adult Jumper division. Carney noted that Bartholomy put in an excellent effort and deserves the hard-earned feat of being the most improved rider for the summer at Telluride Farm.

Carney, based out of Hampshire, IL, has been both an active participant and influential trainer in the hunter and jumper community for many years. Her contributions to the industry extend to the many clinics that she teaches every year, in addition to those that she hosts annually for U.S. Show Jumping chef d'equipe George H. Morris and top hunter/jumper trainer Don Stewart Jr. Carney is also a driving force behind the United States Hunter Jumper Association's High Performance Hunter Committee, which seeks to develop a program that will bring the lost art of tradition and horsemanship back to the show ring.

Telluride Farm will next attend the Evergreen Invitational on Sept. 14-15 in Milwaukee, WI. For more information, please visit http://www.dcarneyelluride.com.
