Freedom Health Congratulates USEF Award Winners Chester Weber and Steffen Peters

Aurora, OH (February 10, 2008)--Four-in-hand driving competitor Chester Weber and dressage rider Steffen Peters were honored during the U.S. Equestrian Federation Annual Meeting in January. Weber’s horse Jamaica, a member of all six of his four-in-hand national championship teams, received the 2008 Farnam(R)/Platform(TM) USEF Horse of the Year award. Peters was named the 2008 Equestrian of the Year and recipient of the William C. Steinkraus trophy for his achievements and contributions to the sport, including representing the U.S. at the 2008 Summer Games in Hong Kong with Ravel.

Both of these international competitors use SUCCEED(R) Digestive Conditioning Program(R) (DCP) on a daily basis to support optimum performance in their horses, despite rigorous travel and competition schedules. The health of a horse’s digestive tract has far-reaching affects beyond weight and appearance--it delivers all the energy and nutrients that a horse needs to perform at its best. Keeping this vital system healthy has made a critical difference for these exemplary equestrians.

Jamaica’s rise to the top of equestrian sport is especially poignant--originally destined for slaughter in Europe, he was rescued for use as a tourist carriage horse. This career was short lived though, due to his reluctance to stand still. Fate intervened when Weber purchased the gelding and retrained him to be a four-in-hand horse. In addition to helping Weber win six national championships, the 18-year-old Dutch gelding was a part of Weber’s individual silver medal winning team at the World Driving Championships--the first time an American has won an individual medal with a four-in-hand at the world championships.

"I’m incredibly proud to have Jamaica honored with this award," said Weber. "He’s an amazing horse and he certainly deserves the recognition, both for his consistent performances over the years and his humble beginnings."

A long-time SUCCEED DCP user, Weber has seen firsthand how SUCCEED can lead to improvements in performance and overall condition. "I also want to thank the people at Freedom Health for all their support along the way, and for their great product SUCCEED," he said. "It's made a big difference for Jamaica, and for our entire team."

For Peters, 2008 marked another year at the top of U.S. dressage competition, this time with the relatively inexperienced Ravel. At his first year at the Grand Prix level, Ravel was unbeaten leading up to the Summer Games and led the U.S. contingent with a fourth-place finish in the individual standings.

Peters also offered praise for SUCCEED. "It really helped Ravel heading to Hong Kong last year. It was pretty stressful for him. With SUCCEED, he got through the transition quickly."

"We’re very proud that these top equine professionals recognize the value of a healthy digestive system and choose to feed SUCCEED DCP as part of their horses’ daily nutrition regimens," said Patrick Warczak, Vice President - Marketing at Freedom Health, LLC. "We’d like to congratulate all of our riders who competed at all levels and disciplines in the past year."

By promoting healthy digestive function with SUCCEED, owners and trainers can create a diet that enhances the natural digestive process without changing the way they manage their horses. SUCCEED is safe and effective for all horses and, for the equine athlete, it is not a testable substance.
