Frontier Ranch, Inc. of Yerington, NV. an equine rescue that also helps disabled & troubled children founded in 2004. Frontier Ranch has recently rescued the rare breed “the Morocco Spotted horse” and the Rarest Morgan Bloodline in the world Known as The War Paint horses.
Frontier Ranch, Inc. had received a phone call from a lady in MO. Who had some horses in a court case for over 2 years back board the horses numbering about thirty. She was already in process of court proceedings when she first contacted Frontier Ranch. While talking to her she told them all the details of what had taken place in the last four years.
That if she won she would be unable to care for so many horses, that she didn’t want them to go to slaughter. During the conversation with her it was agreed to step in and help as much as they could until all was settled with the courts. The land owner sent Frontier Ranch, Inc. a trailer full of horses that where in need of immediate medical care with out which they wouldn’t have lived long due to the extreme neglect by their then owner who helped to load them on the trailer along with eight other people helping.
While the landowner along with the then owner had warned us of the extreme nature of the situation, what was unloaded was beyond belief. The People at Frontier Ranch, Inc. went into action, some of the horses where allowed to rest a day before being loaded back onto a trailer headed for the Equine hospital. While others where just on 24-hour watch until the vet was scheduled, the mares where on twenty-four hour watch until the vet was able to arrive Their health issues may have lasting effects on them but most have recovered fully, a couple will always look thin due to damage to liver and other internal organs but are living safe loving and productive lives at Frontier Ranch, Inc. The remainder of the horses where brought in later after the court awarded them to the landowner.
Brocade a chestnut and white Morocco Spotted horse mare is just one of many who came to Frontier Ranch, Inc. This rare breed is now getting the veterinary care they need and on the road to good heath, they are giving back to the humans who have saved them, and starting to make a comeback! Their registry that was disbanded years ago has now been put back into action.
Numbering less then 30 of the purest horses left. Thanks to the efforts of Frontier Ranch, Inc. they have a winning team dedicated to saving not only these horses lives but the breed and rehabilitating them to work with the disabled children, Some of the horses even after almost a year with Frontier Ranch still have huge health challenges to over come, but are well on their way in the right direction.
Crown Jewel is one of the Rarest Morgan in the world! Crown Jewel and nine of her siblings where also saved in this same rescue event with the Morocco spotted horses. Crown Jewel came to us in emaciated but still in better condition then her siblings, low in weight, Very Wild, terrified, and in foal. She is now a healthy loving mom who not only is working with kids, and has adopted another foal. Crown Jewel really lives up to her name. Her breed’s reputation for a forgiving and loving nature, some of members of Frontier Ranch Board and AMHA are working closely together to get them back into their parent registry. The Registry Chair Mrs. Georgie Green has stated they are working hard to get them back into AMHA and that they are indeed Pure Bred Morgan Horses Descendants of War Paint.
WAR PAINT, the first Pure bred Morgan Registered with AMHA, with the Overo Gene, his son Chief War Paint is the Sire to all the War Paint horses Frontier Ranch rescued.
War Paint’s Grand Daughter, worked with one of the children at Frontier Ranch, Inc. Spokes Person for Frontier Ranch stated that you can’t Beat the War Paint Morgan horse bloodline when it comes to working with disabled Children! They are just perfect teachers for the children and love to be with them.
One of the horses rescued by Frontier Ranch, Inc. was placed with a Girl named Brittney who took part in our program for disabled children. Brittney has over come many challenges with her medical condition. Once she had completed the program Britney explained to them she had saved up her money to buy a horse, when she indicated she had saved $17.95 for her new horse and she wished to buy a horse she had work with during many visits, her wish was granted: When asked about this event a spokes person for Frontier Ranch said: This was an unusual case We felt that this was a bond that shouldn’t be broken. Brittney has shown exemplary growth in our program and has learned how to fully care for and work with many of the horses here, Elvis was just one of the horses she worked with, the two of them had a bond that was unusual. The Match was a good one. We knew the backgrounds of both Brittney & Elvis. We knew they would give Elvis good care, So it was agreed to make the two of them happy. The two are still together to this day!
Gibby is another rescue Frontier Ranch brought in, when she was brought back to good health she began her work with the children. One of the little girls who was withdrawn due to being deaf found a whole new world open up for her. She is now an outgoing little girl who visits us as often as she can.
The Children who come here simply love to play with the High Pockets Spotted Morocco Colt, and this Wonderful breed of Morocco Spotted horse that numbers less then thirty in the world to date has found it’s home at last. They will be used extensively with in the children at Frontier Ranch, Inc.
