Help Newcomers Get a (Horse) Life

Horselife, the Got Milk? program for our industry, needs your help

Denver CO– Are you an equine journalist or publisher? Are you management of a major company in the horse industry? An advertising rep for an equine magazine? A trainer, a farrier, a vet? Entrepreneur and inventor, working hard to make your small business in the horse industry pay off? Management of an association? Or, do you not work in the horse industry, but are an avid horseperson?

Whoever you are, if you believe that horses make the world a better place (whether for your soul or your wallet) and having more horsepeople are a good thing, then listen up. You can help make it happen by doing one or more of these…

1. Go to http://www.horselife.org to download and view a presentation that explains how we’re going to create more horsepeople, just like Got Milk? created more milk drinkers.

2. Spread the word. Forward this press release. Ask everyone you know who might be interested in this – “Have you heard of Horselife? No? Then you should visit http://www.horselife.org."

3. Do you belong to a riding club or association that does fundraising? Name Horselife as the beneficiary.

4. Write about it in your magazine or newspaper. We are happy to provide editorial support or finished articles written to length.

5. Write a check – large or small. Here’s a sobering thought – with 9 million horses in the US, if we had a dollar per horse… wow. Point is, no check is too small if there are enough of them.

6. If you haven’t done so already, join WETA, so your vote can direct Horselife as it progresses.

7. Create a checkoff program for your association by which your members can elect to add a dollar (or five dollars, or whatever amount) to their annual dues, to be forwarded to Horselife. We can provide marketing materials or editorial support to help you with this.

8. Designate the proceeds from one of your products to benefit Horselife, or even create a custom product that’s branded with Horselife.

9. Make suggestions on how we can improve this as we go forward. Horselife is by and for the equine industry, every one of us. (If, for example, one of these ideas can’t quite be done by you, but a slightly different idea would work – let us know.)

The time is now – we want to have the first stage of the website up for newcomers by the end of this year. The sitemap is done, the initial design concepts are done – all we need is funding (and companies, you’ll get advertising in return!). Help us get pledges by October 31st, so we can make this site a reality.
