Grand Prix Show Jumper Beezie Madden to Promote Equine Stomach Ulcer
Equestrian News Release
DULUTH, Ga., April 3, 2006 — Merial today announced that Beezie Madden,
member of the 2004 U.S. Show Jumping gold medal-winning team, will serve as
an official supporter and spokesperson for the company’s equine ulcer
product – ULCERGARD™ (omeprazole), the only product proven to prevent
stomach ulcers in horses.
“All eyes in the show jumping world are on Beezie Madden each time she
competes,” said Jeannine Courser, Product Manager, Merial Equine
Pharmaceuticals. “She truly exemplifies the excellence and passion of a
professional equestrian and we are very fortunate to have her join Team
ULCERGARD. Her support of ULCERGARD as an essential component in keeping her
horses healthy and ulcer-free will go a long way in helping us promote ulcer
prevention education among other performance horse owners.”
“I have traveled all over the world and know all too well the stress that a
competitive lifestyle can have on a horse and that ulcers can develop
frequently as a result of that stress,” said Madden. “I am excited to
partner with Merial and to help educate other show jumpers on the severe
effects that ulcers can have on a horse, especially as it relates to having
the ability to perform at its best, and the importance of ulcer prevention
with ULCERGARD.”
Madden’s successes over the past year has lead to her most recent
recognition as the 2005 United States Equestrian Federation’s “Equestrian of
the Year” and has earned her two American Grand Prix Association “Rider of
the Year” titles. Other career highlights include first place finishes in
the 2005 $1,000,000 CN International and the American Invitational. In
addition to her role on the 2004 U.S. gold medal-winning show jumping team,
she will go down in history as the first woman, and the first U.S. rider to
reach the third-place ranking on the world-ranking list of show jumpers.
As part of this partnership, Madden will participate in various consumer
events and promotions representing the ULCERGARD brand, as well as display
the ULCERGARD logo on banners and various branded clothing at competitive
events.
