Virginia Gold Cup Association Donates Sound System to Great Meadow
WARRENTON, VA -- The Virginia Gold Cup Association is replacing the current sound system at the Great Meadow Event Center, home of the Virginia Gold Cup. G. W. Sound of Richmond VA will install this sound reinforcement to provide better coverage for our race enthusiasts. G.W. Sound has 39 years of experience and has serviced steeplechase meets and various other events
This $42,000 sound system, especially designed for outdoor use, will project sound more evenly and clearly in the widely varying conditions – weather, crowd size – that exist at Great Meadow events. The new system will provide 62 new horn speakers, 12 new amplifiers, with video and audio for AV presentations. The new system will enable Gold Cup to sell advertising on the jumbotron video screens now used at the Gold Cup races, giving sponsors the opportunity to better promote their product. .
“The new sound system will make the race day experience that much more enjoyable for everyone,” said Leslie VanSant, Great Meadow executive director. “Great Meadow appreciates the long-term support of the Virginia Gold Cup Association to improving our facility for all events,” she added.
“The Virginia Gold Cup Association has worked with the Great Meadow Foundation to make improvements to the race course each year, we’re glad to be able to make this gift as it will benefit everyone who comes to events at Great Meadow,” said Diane Jones, Virginia Gold Cup Association’s executive director.
The 81st Anniversary of the Virginia Gold Cup will take place on Saturday, May 6 at Great Meadow in The Plains, Virginia. Gates open at 10 am for pre-race entertainment.
