Halloween with Horses Returns with Even More Surprises

Parker, CO- The ninth annual Halloween with Horses on October 18, 2008 promises to be another one to remember. Each year the event outdoes itself with exciting new additions. This year's new features include The Salida Circus, a troop of acrobats, jugglers, clowns, trapeze artists and more. Always a big hit, The Westernaires return with their unique, rip roarin' entertainment. The only fall festival of its kind, Halloween with Horses is a day of fun for the whole family. It has been recognized nationwide as one of the country's most unique Halloween celebrations, and attracts support of the local community including the Town of Parker, the Parker Library, the Parker Arts Council and hundreds of volunteers.

"We're thrilled by the excitement that Halloween with Horses generates each year," said Christine DeHerrera, Media Coordinator for the Colorado Horse Park. "We get calls from around the country about this event!"

Halloween with Horses is ideal for families and horse lovers alike. A safe trick-or-treat barn, pony and horse rides, Stable of Terror, pumpkin patch, face painting, petting zoo and horse entertainment are just a few of the ways little ghosts and goblins can have fun. Parents enjoy the crafters fair. And of course, don't forget the food! But the highlight of the event is the horse costume contest.

"The horse costume contest is a favorite," commented DeHerrera. "Each of the entrants puts so much time and creativity into their costumes. It's impressive." Among the fabulous costumes last year: a Triceratops and cavewoman who won the Grand Prize, as well as intricate outfits reflecting The March of the Penguins, the headless horseman, and a living carousel.

Halloween with Horses runs from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 18. Tickets are $9 per person. Bring a can of food for the SECOR food bank and receive $1 off admission. Children under one are free. Parking is free. Visit http://www.ColoradoHorsePark.org or http://www.halloweenwithhorses.org for more information or call 303-841-5550.

The Colorado Horse Park is a 501 (c) 3 not for profit organization. The purpose of The Colorado Horse Park is to showcase the history and heritage of the West using the horse as the primary teaching tool through hands-on educational programming, museum exhibitions, competitions, boarding and training, recreation, entertainment and therapy for all ages.
