How To Speak Fluent Horse - The Original 'Horse Whisperer' Offers Clinics at Colorado's Historic C Lazy U Ranch

GRANBY, Colo., Aug. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Nationally known cowboy and horse trainer Buck Brannaman -- inspiration for the Robert Redford directed movie "The Horse Whisperer," -- is hosting a horsemanship clinic at the C Lazy U Dude Ranch (http://www.clazyu.com) Aug. 28-Sept. 1, 2005.

Brannaman, known for his untraditional methods of "breaking" troubled horses and his knack for creating trusting relationships between horses and riders, will teach two four-day clinics: a foundation horsemanship clinic and a ranch roping clinic. He has been teaching clinics at C Lazy U for over ten years.

Brannaman inspired the New York Times best selling novel "The Horse Whisperer," written by first-time author Nicholas Evans. Award winning actor Robert Redford quickly turned the novel into an Oscar nominated movie with the same title in 1998. Brannaman, a true cowboy from Sheridan, Wyoming, was involved in the making of the movie and his horses were used in parts of the film.

"Buck is truly an inspiration to our ranch and has been hosting clinics at C Lazy U for over a decade," said Brian Murray, owner of the C Lazy U Ranch. "His unparalleled methods of teaching horses and riders to understand and communicate with each other are ones we strongly believe in and implement in the teachings of our guests year after year."

The adults-only clinics include instruction, trail riding, lodging, meals and all ranch activities. For those with children, three age-specific, full- day programs through Camp C Lazy U are available.

Rates include the participation in one of the clinics, lodging, meals and all ranch activities. The cost is $1950.00 per person for standard accommodations and $2175.00 for deluxe accommodations. There's an additional charge of $450.00 to take part in both clinics.

Riders can bring and board their own horse, free of charge, or work with one of the 170 ranch horses.

For more information or to make reservations, please call C Lazy U Ranch at 970-887-3344.

About Buck Brannaman

Buck Brannaman discovered his calling for working with horses when he was a young boy. His method of training focuses on communicating with horses, reading their body language, and making them feel safe so that horse and rider can truly understand each other. He considers himself a horse gentler, not a horse breaker. Brannaman conducts horsemanship clinics year-round all over the country, teaching horse owners how to better understand their horses. Brannaman has authored three books, one being autobiographical. For more information about Brannaman's horsemanship clinics and books, visit http://www.brannaman.com.
