Telluride Farm and Caitie Hope Clean Up at HITS Ocala Masters

Telluride Farm and Caitie Hope Clean Up at HITS Ocala Masters
Ocala, FL - March 5, 2008 - It was a grand beginning of the winter season for Caitie Hope of Barrington, IL, as she traveled to HITS Ocala in Ocala, FL, with Diane Carney and her Chicago-based Telluride Farm.

Hope, partnered for the first time with Lyle, owned by Stephanie Keen, jumped straight into the winners circle in the 16 & 17 Small Junior Hunters. The pair captured the championship by taking first in three over fences classes, fourth in another and eighth in the under saddle. Additionally, Hope earned high scores of 79 and 88 to take second place in the Junior Hunter Classic.

"Don Stewart really knows Lyle, so he matched him up with Caitie," Carney, who works with Stewart, explained. "The key is trust in both the horse and the rider and remembering that less is sometimes more in the show ring. They both hit their marks perfectly this weekend."

The remainder of the horses and riders from Telluride Farm will compete this week during the fourth week of HITS Ocala.

Carney, based out of Hampshire, IL, from her Telluride Farm, has been both an active participant and influential trainer in the hunter and jumper community for many years. Her contributions to the industry extend to the many clinics that she teaches every year, in addition to those that she hosts annually for U.S. Show Jumping Chef d'Equipe George H. Morris and top hunter/jumper trainer Don Stewart Jr. Carney is also a driving force behind the United States Hunter Jumper Association's High Performance Hunter Committee, which seeks to develop a program that will bring the lost art of tradition and horsemanship back to the show ring.
