Parade of Champs! HITS Saugerties crowns its Spring Circuit Champions

SAUGERTIES, NY (June 16, 2008)--Prior to Sunday's $50,000 Purina Mills Grand Prix, HITS handed out its Spring Circuit Awards to the most accomplished equestrians who participated at HITS Saugerties this spring.

The Overall and Reserve Circuit Champions in 68 divisions were awarded during a special Parade of Champions celebration in the Grand Prix ring at HITS-on-the-Hudson to cap off three exciting weeks of competition.

It was a very successful spring for trainer Cynthia Williams of New England Farms, and it showed on Sunday, when her students Hugh Dollard, Carolyn Curcio, Jennifer Padovani and Chelsea Cohn each won circuit awards.

Dollard and In Our Time were Circuit Champions in the Modified Children's Hunter Division, while Curcio was in the irons aboard Hero (Small Junior 16-17) and Que Sera (Large Junior 16-17) and captured two Circuit Champion ribbons.

Padovani piloted Guapo to a Reserve Championship in the Adult Hunter 18-15 Division and Cohn rode Merci to a Reserve Championship in the Large Green Pony Hunters.

"It was certainly a great spring for New England Farms," said Cynthia Williams. "I have some great students right now and all of their hard work has paid off with winning several circuit awards this spring at HITS Saugerties. Some of the best riders show in Saugerties, and it's a great accomplishment to win a circuit award there."

Another barn excelling at HITS Saugerties this spring was New Jersey's Renaissance Farm. Under the watchful eye of trainer Lisa Campi, the barn took home four circuit awards.

BJ Stisken and Artisan were Circuit Champions in the Schooling Hunter Division for owner Jackie Millen. In the Junior Jumper Lows it was Chloe Fico and Okie Dokie who captured the title, while Hillary Berger and her mount Copal Jass took home the top prize in the Adult Jumper Highs 31 & Over. Rounding out the awards for Renaissance Farm were Cali Bulmash and her mount Robson who were Champions in the Child Jumper Lows.

Excelling on an individual note was New York City's Isabel Ryan, who rides at Southampton Riding Club under trainer Bobby Ginsberg. She was awarded both the Short Stirrup Hunter Circuit Championship and the Short Stirrup Equitation Circuit Championship aboard her horse Dot Com.
