Holiday Pet Gifts That Give Back to Animal Health

ENGLEWOOD, Colo., Nov. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- This holiday, sending seasonal greeting cards can also help benefit animal health. Morris Animal Foundation (MAF), the largest nongovernmental, nonprofit source of funding for companion animal and wildlife health studies has created a holiday card that highlights its first children's art contest winner. This year's winner is 13-year-old Steven Bauer of Missouri for his drawing "Penguins at Sea."

"Penguins at Sea" features several penguins playing outside their wintry home. This vision of happy, healthy animals is a warm-hearted reminder of MAF's mission -- to improve the health and well-being of companion animals and wildlife.

The holiday greeting cards are available in packs of 25 cards and can be purchased for a $30 minimum donation per pack. MAF will direct 100 percent of the holiday card proceeds toward animal health studies; not a single penny will be used to support administration or fund raising. To order cards, call 800.243.2345, or go online at http://www.MorrisAnimalFoundation.org.

Looking for other pet-related gift ideas? Help cut down on lost pets with a LuckyPet ID Tag. LuckyPet offers a full line of customized pet identification tags which come in stainless steel, hand-polished brass and plastic to suit any cat or dog. Tags cost $6.95 plus shipping and handling. MAF receives $1 per pet tag sold. For more information visit http://www.MAFpettags.com.

Another great gift idea is an ornament by Joy To The World Collectibles. These animal-themed, hand-blown glass ornaments exclusively benefit MAF, and are endorsed by actress and MAF Trustee Betty White. The Pet Set includes more than 100 breeds of dogs and cats, and the Celebrity Charity line offers ornaments featuring the Foundation's logo animals -- elephant, horse, dog and cat -- and others. MAF receives 10 percent of sales. For more information, pricing and product photos visit http://www.joytotheworldonline.com.
