2008 Horse Shows by the Bay Series Features Variety of Vendors

Traverse City, MI - May 28, 2008 - The 2008 Horse Shows by the Bay is a three week equestrian festival that runs from July 16 to August 3, 3008, in the heart of Grand Traverse Bay resort area. The show features hunter, jumper, equitation, and dressage competition. Horse Shows by the Bay is pleased to welcome a large variety of local and equestrian vendors to their facility. The wide array of vendors can provide products from riding helmets and jewelry to apparel and chocolates to all who visit the Horse Shows by the Bay.

Providing the necessary things a rider might need to outfit themselves and their horses are sponsors The Custom Fox Tack Shop, Ann K Hubbard's Tack Shop, and Sporthorse Saddlery. All three tack shops are championship and classic cooler sponsors and will be on-site for each of the three weeks. Joining them during weeks two and three will be Gold Sponsor English Riding Supply's representative Peggy Murray. English Riding Supply is responsible for sponsoring the Ovation Leading Riding Awards and the Pessoa Equitation Challenge.

Personalized Products/Equine Outfitters is the official souvenir merchandise supplier for Horse Shows by the Bay, and they are the embroidery sponsor for the show. Owners Carrie and Curtis Gunst of Hartford, WI, will be working out of their mobile trailer providing custom embroidery. They will also operate the official souvenir tent especially set up to display Horse Shows by the Bay logo gear.

If it is dressage apparel that you need, check out The Horse Village of Coleman, MI, who will be on-site during week three. The Horse Village is the sponsor of Dressage by the Bay Series I championship awards.

Specialty jeweler Anne Haas of Bead by Bead will again be back for all three weeks. Bead by Bead specializes in hand-crafted beaded jewelry and unique gifts.

Devacoux Saddlery, who is sponsoring items to be used for the Equestrian Aid Foundation Live Auction, will also be on-site during week one with their custom saddles.

There are also several local Traverse Bay vendors that will have vendor space at Horse Shows by the Bay. Red Hare Tack and Togs, a boutique equestrian shop based out of the Grand Traverse Commons, is the co-sponsor of Local Rider Day. Badpony.com, a fellow co-sponsor of Local Rider Day, is located in Lake Leelanau and specializes in unexpected accessories for horses, dogs, and their people. They will both be attending the show as vendors on Local Day - July 29 - and during the third week of the festival.

Setting up at the stable office will be Eastfield Laundry, Garden Goods, and Kodiak Equipment. Eastfield Laundry is the on-site laundry provider at Horse Shows by the Bay. They feature hand-washed and dry cleaning services through drop-off and pick up service twice daily from Traverse City. Garden Goods, the official landscape supplier, will be on-site to provide participants with plants, mulch, and other unique garden art for their tack room set-up. Garden Goods is located in Traverse City with a special on-site booth display. And if you are looking to rent a golf cart, Kodiak Equipment will be on-site to provide rentals to their two and four passenger models.

Other vendors that will be at Horse Shows by the Bay include:

Mabel's Family Restaurant - on-site official food vendor - voted "best Traverse City family restaurant" for the past 12 years; featuring homemade desserts, breads, pies, made to order sandwiches, wraps, salads; named Good Morning America "Best Scoops" winner - Moomers ice cream.

Randi Muster Photography - the official photographer for Hunter/Jumper competition. Photos for all three weeks can be found at http://www.mustphoto.com.

Diana Hadsall Photography - the official dressage photographer.

Chocolate Exotica - a confectionary specializing in handmade ice cream and hand-dipped chocolates - each with an equestrian theme name!

Shorty's Loft - ladies western and wild west casual apparel.

Brownwood Farms - featuring locally made cherry jams, desserts, mustards, and other wonderful food items.

Maui Wowi Coffee & Smoothies - on-site coffee and smoothie vendor

SS Enterprise - Stable & Arena Irrigation specialists

Coldwell Banker - local real estate agent specializing in cottage rentals, sales, and horse farm properties.

Auntie Ann Horse Treats - local Michigan horse cookie specialist.

Oakcroft Tack Trunks - specializing in custom tack trunks and other tack room necessities.
