Traverse City, MI - July 25, 2006 - At 8 a.m. this morning in picturesque Traverse City, MI, the most prestigious week of Horse Shows by the Bay began at Flintfields. This second week of competition has been awarded the coveted World Champion Hunter Rider sanctioning by the American Hunter-Jumper Foundation. Susan Baginski's Baskin Farm, Ann and Skip Thornbury's Equisports, Inc., and Jeff and Keeley Gogul's Flagship Farm will also show, among many others.

For these three weeks, Traverse City is also host to some of the top jumper riders. Scott Lenkart, Shane Sweetnam and Roberto Teran are competing at Horse Shows by the Bay. Casey Hodges, Kels Bonham, Emily Williams and Morgan Kennedy are just some of the younger jumper riders that have been holding their own against the more seasoned professionals.

This second week of Horse Shows by the Bay also features a $3,000 NAL Open Speed on Thursday and a $10,000 Welcome Prix on Friday. On Saturday, the Polk Family Main Hunter Ring schedule includes a $10,000 Pro/Jr/AO Hunter Classic, which coincides with a complementary dinner in the hospitality tent. Also on Saturday, in the Team Elmer's Grand Prix Ring, riders will compete in a $2,500 Low Jr/AO Jumper Classic and a $10,000 Show Jumping Hall of Fame Jr/AO Jumper Prix. Horse Shows by the Bay II concludes on Sunday, July 29, 2007, with the $25,000 Grand Travers Bay Grand Prix.

Along with competition, Horse Shows by the Bay offers a diverse selection of vendors for both the competitors' and spectators' enjoyment. Vendors Row features Ann K.
