Jennifer Waxman & Zoom Small Junior Hunter Champion

WELLINGTON, Fla., Feb.10--Jennifer Waxman and Zoom were champion of Small Junior Hunters Sunday at the CN Winter Equestrian Festival presented by Zimmerman Advertising at the Palm Beach International Equestrian Center.

Waxman, 16, of Chagrin Falls, Ohio and her seven-year-old brown gelding, Zoom, were undefeated in both over fences classes on Sunday with a score of 85 in the first trip and 84 in the second. Jennifer and Zoom ride with trainer Ken Smith of Wellington and have been competing together for almost a year.

"He was a first year horse last year," Jennifer said. "He used to be green so this win is very exciting, every show he gets better. The last few weeks we've been getting back into it, and today I felt like we are on the right path of putting it together."

Grace Socha and Georgetown were reserve champion after success on Saturday and their second place finish with a score of 79 in the first trip Sunday. This was the first time Grace, 17, of Kennett Square, Penn. and the eight-year-old Dutch Warmblood gelding, Georgetown, owned by Molly Gardner Charlotte, N.C. have competed together.
