Jennifer Wooten–Dafoe Joins Kerrits Team Rider Program

Hood River, OR— Kerrits Equestrian Apparel is pleased to announce the addition of Eventer Jennifer Wooten – Dafoe to their Team Rider Program. “Jennifer exemplifies the Kerrits image,” explains Kerri Kent, president of Kerrits Equestrian Apparel, “her hard work and dedication is taking her to the top!”

International competitor Jennifer Wooten-Defoe along with her partner, 2008 Mare of the year, The Good Witch, have their sights set on another top 10 finish this year at the Rolex Kentucky 4**** event. After a stellar 2008 season, including an advanced win at 3-day Ranch in National, CA, 2nd CIC 3*** International Championship in CA and a 7th place finish at Rolex 4**** to name a few; the pair earned a spot on the 2008 Olympic short-list. They were again selected as a member of the USEF and USOC Winter Training Camp; confirming that Jennifer’s lifelong goal to represent the US on a team is well within reach. First introduced to eventing at the age of nine through the Pony Club, Jennifer pursued her dream by moving up the ratings; learning from her experiences both positive and negative, how to make the most and learn from any situation; always continuing on her chosen path to ride and compete horses. In 2004 Jennifer secured her partner “Pooh”, whom she trained through the advanced level and is now actively competing on the International stage. However, international competition is not new to the pair, in 2007 Jennifer was the highest placed American at the Pau CCI 4**** Olympic selection trial in France, 13th at Jersey Fresh CCI 3***; and has completed Blenheim Palace CCI 3*** International in England and the World Cup Finals CIC 3*** in Sweden, both in 2006. Her impressive resume speaks for itself and her mission “to live, ride and refresh the sport with new talent and try to be an ambassador that fans of all types can identify with.” In addition to The Good Witch; Jennifer is competing her two new mounts Nabouco De Lessey and Fleeceworks Fernhilll along with running Trinity Farms, a full service facility committed to educating riders and training equine athletes in every respect.

After Rolex, Jennifer has her sights set on securing a position on the US Team for the 2010 World Equestrian Games. Kerrits is proud to sponsor her and wish her the best in all of her upcoming competitions.
