JT Farm Has Top World Champion Hunter Rider Finishes, Wins Zone 1 Championships

Toon to Present "In Disguise" WCHR Amateur-Owner Trainer Award at Capital Challenge

South Salem, NY - September 30, 2008 - JT Farm of South Salem, NY, and Wellington, FL, won accolades recently in multiple divisions and organizations. At the Zone 1 finals, JT Farm won three top awards. They also had top finishes in the AHJF World Champion Hunter Rider (WCHR) Standings.

At the Eastern States Horse Show, Jimmy Toon piloted JT Farm's Cayero to the championship in the First Year Green Hunters. Toon and Cayero also won the Zone 1 finals in the same division. Cayero, an eight-year-old Oldenburg gelding imported by Toon last fall, has made huge steps in the show ring this year.

Cayero started out the year showing in the 3'6" equitation divisions with junior rider Sophie Benjamin. This summer, Toon started the talented horse in the hunter divisions for preparation and he won championships at shows across the Northeast, including ribbons at the Hampton Classic Horse Show. Cayero also showed successfully in the Children's division with Francesca Giammalva.

"He's a sweet horse," Toon said. "He jumps really well, and he has come along very nicely this year. He should move up next year and be very competitive."

Also a Zone Final winner at Eastern States was Dudley MacFarlane of Darien, CT. She rode Accolade to the Amateur-Owner Over 35 Hunter championship and Zone final win. On Authentic, MacFarlane was reserve champion in the Adult Amateur Hunters and a Zone final winner. In the WCHR Northeast Region standings, MacFarlane finished ninth in the Amateur-Owner division.

The winner of the WCHR Northeast Region Amateur-Owner division was Ellen Toon. Toon is also third in the National standings in the same division. At the Middleburg Classic Horse Show, Toon rode two horses to top ribbons. Invincible finished first in the Amateur-Owner Over 35 Hunters, while Attache picked up second, fourth, and fifth place ribbons.

Brianne Link of East Islip, NY, finished third in the WCHR Northeast Region Children's division, while Jimmy Toon was seventh in the professional division.

JT Farm is currently at the Capital Challenge Horse Show in Upper Marlboro, MD, where they will compete for championships. Ellen Toon will donate a new perpetual trophy in honor of her famous hunter, "In Disguise," this year at the Capital Challenge Horse Show. The In Disguise WCHR Amateur-Owner Trainer Award will be donated to the American Hunter Jumper Foundation (AHJF).

Toon will donate a new trophy, jacket, and a cash prize to the trainer of the winning horse in the World Championship Hunter Rider (WCHR) Amateur-Owner Hunter Challenge, a class that Toon and In Disguise won in 2004.

Contributions toward the cash prize will still be accepted and can go towards the prize for next year's winner as well. The contributions are tax-deductible and any amount is appreciated. The names of all contributors will be on a congratulatory card given to the winning trainer. Anyone that is interested in donating money to go towards the trainer's prize can contact Ellen Toon by emailing to elliet717@aol.com or calling 914-649-6522.
