Wellington, FL - January 12, 2009 - JT Farm, led by trainer Jimmy Toon of South Salem, NY, and Wellington, FL, won three tricolor ribbons in a very successful first week of the 2009 show season at the FTI Winter Equestrian Festival (WEF).
Toon rode Silas V, owned by Brianne Link of East Islip, NY, to the reserve championship in the Non-Thoroughbred 3'3" Hunters. They won an over fences class and the under saddle for the top ribbon.
Link then took over the ride on Silas V in the Children's Hunter 14 & Under division and brought home the championship. They won both over fences classes and were third in the under saddle.
Link won her second championship of the week in the Pony Jumpers on Tallyman. They won the $500 Time First Jump-Off class and were third in the $500 Time First Round class. Link also rode well in the Low Children's Jumper division on Black Diamond, owned by JT Farm.
Carolyn Lichtenberg of Pelham Manor, NY, piloted I-Toon, owned by JT Farm to fourth place in the USEF Medal class. Taylor Kain of Lake Worth, FL, rode Cayero to second in the USEF Medal and seventh in section A of the ASPCA Maclay class. Cayero, a top equitation horse produced by Toon, is currently for sale.
"We didn't show a lot of horses this week, but we had a great week with a lot of ribbons," Toon said. "The kids rode really well, and the horses were ready and prepared."
Toon noted that along with Cayero, he has a full selection of top quality horses for sale. These include young hunters as well as made equitation horses.
