Show Jumper and Ariat® Team Member Will Simpson Qualifies for 2008 Olympic Games Short List

Union City, CA – March 14, 2008 – Ariat International, Inc. is pleased to announce that Ariat team member, Will Simpson qualified for one of the ten spots on the United States Equestrian Federation’s Show Jumping short list for the 2008 Olympics Games.
The announcement this week followed Simpson’s stellar performance in the USEF Selection Trials for Show Jumping in Wellington, Florida where he dominated the field of Olympic hopefuls. Simpson won two back-to-back trials including the $100,000 Zada Enterprises Masters Cup.
This past weekend, an early morning thunderstorm startled Simpson’s horse, Carlsson Vom Dach, causing the 12-year-old Holsteiner gelding to experience trauma in his stall that left him incapable of competing in the last of the five trails. In spite of this unfortunate turn of events, the USEF Ad Hoc Committee on Selection awarded the last of the discretionary positions to Simpson.

The Olympic team will be announced early in July and nothing would be sweeter for Will Simpson than to qualify for the team.
