Kacey McCann Continues Jumper Winning Streak

Saugerties, NY – July 26, 2006 – At last week’s HITS-on-the-Hudson Horse Show, held on July 19-23, 2006, SBS Farms Inc. had six tricolor ribbons fluttering on the tack room curtains. Led by trainers Susie Schoellkopf and Jennifer Alfano, the riders won in all three disciplines at the show.

Success began early in the week with professional rider Jennifer Alfano. She piloted Rock Star, owned by Jennifer Burger of Snyder, NY, to double wins in the Regular Working Hunters and the First Year Green Working Hunters. These wins gave Rock Star the reserve championship in the First Years and the championship in the Regular Working Hunters.

Alfano also rode Sharon O’Neill’s Amherst. The young talent won three out of five classes in the Baby Green Hunter division and was awarded the champion ribbon.

Kacey McCann of Palmyra, PA, and Only Jumping Boy have won classes in the Low Junior Jumpers at every show this summer. Their streak continued this past week, when they won a class against some of the best Junior Jumper riders in the country. The win, along with another placing, gave them the championship in the division.

McCann, known for her catch-riding abilities, showcased them once again this week when she rode Caroline Weingart’s Chloe Z to the Large Junior 15 & Under Hunter championship. The pair won two classes on their way to the tricolor.

Trish Bookbinder of Cazenovia, NY, and Adeline finished as the Farnam Adult 36-45 Hunter champions. They won two classes and were second in the remaining three classes of the division.

Buffalo, NY resident Merideth Bartolone won the Amateur-Owner Hunter Classic on Once and Again, and they also won a class in the Amateur-Owner 36 & Over Hunters. Bartolone then rode Churchill to win two Adult Equitation over fences classes and was champion in the division.

SBS Farms Inc. will continue to show this week at HITS-on-the-Hudson Horse Show in Saugerties from July 26-30. McCann will once again show as a catch-rider in the Show Circuit Magazine/USEF National Junior Hunter Championship East Coast on July 24-26. This year, she will ride Fernwalk, owned and trained by Don Stewart Jr.

The SBS Farms team is also preparing for the 60th Annual Buffalo International Horse Show, which is held at their home base, the Buffalo Therapeutic Riding Center, on September 13-17, 2006. The show is great for equestrians to use in preparation for the fall indoor circuit and zone finals.
