Karen Healey Stables Wins Three California Medal Finals in Two Weeks

Shelby Wakeman, Yvette Lang-Einczig, and Tiffani Weeda Are Victorious

San Juan Capistrano, CA - August 28, 2007 - At the Oaks Summer Classic II Horse Show, Karen Healey Stables was dominant in the CPHA Medal Finals. Shelby Wakeman of Westlake Village, CA, won the CPHA Junior Medal Finals on San Francisco, while Yvette Lang-Einczig of Malibu was victorious in the Adult Medal Finals on Jalapeno. Tiffani Weeda of San Juan Capistrano led the victory gallop in the CPHA Foundation 21 & Under Finals on Here's Johnny at the Showpark Summer Classic.

In the three round competition of the CPHA Junior Medal Finals, Wakeman was second in the first round. She won round three and ended up as the overall winner of the competition. Fellow Karen Healey student Michelle Morris of La Canada was third in the first round and finished as the reserve champion on Eventual. Tina Dilandri of La Jolla, CA, won the first round on R.S.V.P. and received fifth place in the finals.

In addition to her big finals win, Wakeman rode The Frog Prince for trainer Archie Cox to the Small Junior 16-17 Hunter championship at the USEF West Coast Junior Hunter Finals, held August 20-21. The Frog Prince and Wakeman were the Reserve Grand Champions of the entire competition. On By Design, owned by Olivia Esse, Wakeman was reserve champion in the Large Junior 16-17 Hunter division. Tina Dilandri and Ellen Spaulding's No Limit were the Small Junior 15 & Under Hunter reserve champions.

In the CPHA Adult Finals, Lang-Einczig rode Jalapeno to victory. Elizabeth Dickinson of Los Angeles rode The Graduate to third place in the finals. On her jumper Dimenos 3, Dickinson was champion in the Low Junior/Amateur Jumpers. She finished second in the Modified Junior/Amateur Jumpers on Bewitched and was second in the Equitation 18 & Over.

In the WIHS Equitation Classic, Hannah Selleck of Thousand Oaks, CA, won the hunter phase and took the overall win in the class. The jumper phase winner and third place finisher overall was Morris. Wakeman was fourth, while Veronica Tracy of San Juan Capistrano was sixth.

Navona Gallegos of Santa Fe won the USEF Show Jumping Talent Search, while Selleck was fourth. Dilandri was victorious in the WCE Medal class.

In the jumper ring, Samantha Harrison of La Canada was fourth in the Low Junior/Amateur Jumper Classic with Santika. Katie Gardner and Action 6 finished third in the High Junior/Amateur Jumper Classic.

Tammy Chipko of Agoura Hills, CA, was champion in the Amateur-Owner 36 & Over Hunters on All That. They took the blue ribbon in the Amateur-Owner Hunter Classic as well. Chipko could only beat herself in the division, as she finished as the reserve champion and second in the classic on Amnesty.

Top pony rider Skylar Nelson of Burbank, CA, piloted Macy Grey to the reserve championship in the Medium Pony Hunters. She finished second in the WIHS Pony Equitation and was fifth in the Pony Hunter Classic. She and Macy Grey had the highest score of 84 in the second round. Skylar celebrated her birthday with fellow Karen Healey student, Yasmine Abdallat, on August 14.

At the Showpark Summer Classic on August 22-26, 2007, Tiffani Weeda was the big winner in the CPHA Foundation 21 & Under Finals. In the CPHA Foundation 14 & Under Finals, Holly Dickinson of Los Angeles finished eighth overall.

With Karen Healey on the East Coast judging at the Hampton Classic Horse Show, the students were led by assistant trainers Kasey Ament and Amanda Ballew.

Skylar Nelson and Macy Grey improved on their performance at the Oaks to take the division championship in the Medium Pony Hunters. They finished second in the Pony Hunter Classic, and Nelson was the winner of the WIHS Pony Equitation class.

Elizabeth Dickinson and Dimenos 3 finished third in the Low Junior/Amateur Jumper Classic, and Dickinson was eighth on her other mount, Fabius 45. She picked up the reserve championship in the Modified Junior/Amateur Jumpers with Bewitched.

Hannah Selleck piloted Apartico to blue ribbons in both the WIHS Equitation Classic and the USEF Show Jumping Talent Search. Wakeman was third in the WIHS with her horse Rodin, while Weeda was fourth.

Kasey Ament rode Fred Bauer's Roma M to the win in the 1.35m Jumpers over 40 other competitors in the class.

Karen Healey is currently judging the Hampton Classic Horse Show through September 2, and her students will attend different venues this week at the Gold Coast Horse Show in Burbank and the Showpark All Seasons Summer Classic in Del Mar.
