Karen Healey Stables Excels at Capital Challenge Horse Show

Yvette Lang-Einczig is Reserve Grand Champion at Foxfield Medal Finals, Hannah Selleck Wins Calabasas Saddlery Jr./A-O Jumping Derby

Westlake Village, CA - October 9, 2007 - It was a busy week for Karen Healey Stables, who had riders showing on both coasts of the United States. Karen Healey and students traveled to the Capital Challenge Horse Show in Upper Marlboro, MD, on September 29-October 7, while others competed at the Foxfield Jumping Derby in Westlake Village, CA.

In California, Hannah Selleck of Thousand Oaks, CA, won the 28th Annual $1,500 Calabasas Saddlery Junior/Amateur Jumping Derby. Yvette Lang-Einczig of Malibu was the Reserve Grand Champion in the 36th Annual Foxfield Medal Finals. She also finished as the 36 & Over Equitation champion.

At Capital Challenge, many riders took home top ribbons. They included Tina DiLandri of La Jolla, CA, who won the Junior/Amateur-Owner Jumper speed class on Chanel 292.

Shelby Wakeman of Westlake Village was one of the most decorated riders. She finished fifth in the Monarch International Show Circuit Magazine North American Equitation Championships with San Francisco. In the 16 Year Old Equitation division, she was fourth and fifth over fences and fourth under saddle. She and Alaina, owned by Bailey Anderson and trained by Russell Frey, were fifth in the World Champion Junior Under Saddle class. In the Large Junior 16-17 Hunters, they won the under saddle class and were third over fences. Wakeman rode My Cap for Archie Cox in the Small Junior 16-17 Hunters and was second and third over fences.

Tiffani Weeda of San Juan Capistrano finished fourth in the Monarch International Junior Flat Equitation Championships on Here's Johnny. In the 16 Year Old division, she was second in the flat class and sixth over fences.

Tammy Chipko of Thousand Oaks rode her jumper Lottie to solid performances in the same division. Her hunter, All That, took home fourth and sixth place ribbons in a highly competitive Amateur-Owner Over 36 Hunter division.

La Canada, CA, resident Michelle Morris won the Open Equitation over fences class on Eventual and finished eighth over fences in the 16 Year Old Equitation division.

Navona Gallegos of Santa Fe, NM, brought home second place in the 15 Year Old Equitation flat class on Kendjira and finished sixth in the Open Equitation over fences class. Samantha Harrison, another La Canada resident, finished fourth in the 13/14 Year Old Equitation flat class on Triple Lutz.

Other top competitors from Karen Healey Stables at the Capital Challenge Horse Show included Jocelyn Neff of Newport Beach on Lulu and Kristi Siam of Chatsworth on Obelix S.

Karen Healey and her students will travel next to the Washington International Horse Show, where Tina DiLandri, Shelby Wakeman, Michelle Morris, and Veronica Tracy are qualified in the top 30 riders nationally to compete in the WIHS Equitation Classic Finals.
