Karen Healey Stables Starts 2008 Oaks Blenheim Spring Horse Shows with Victory

San Juan Capistrano, CA - April 1, 2008 - Karen Healey Stables, which is based in Westlake Village, CA, started their spring horse show season with wins in various different classes at the horse show. This past week, March 26-30, was the Oaks Blenheim Spring Tournament.

Jocelyn Neff of Newport Beach, CA, finished as champion in the Low Junior/Amateur-Owner Jumpers with her horse Golden Flip. They took fourth place in the $2,000 Low Jr/A-O Jumper Classic. On Allegro, Neff was third in the USEF Show Jumping Talent Search, and on Cavello, she won the USEF Junior Medal, the ASPCA Maclay class, and the Equitation 15-17 over fences. She was fourth under saddle in the equitation division.

Haley Harrison of La Canada piloted C'est La Vie to a championship in the Low Schooling Hunters. She was fourth in the Show Circuit Medal and third in the Modified Hutners. On Galaxy, Harrison continued winning, this time in the PCHA Horsemanship class and in the Modified Junior/Amateur-Owner Hunters.

Westlake Village resident Shelby Wakeman rode San Francisco to wins in the WCE Medal and the WIHS Equitation hunter phase, where she was second overall. She rode two horses to top finishes in the $10,000 USHJA Hunter Derby. On Ashley Pryde's Truly, she was second and with Pryde's other horse Wesley, she was seventh. Both horses are trained by Archie Cox. In the Small Junor 16-17 Hunters, Wakeman rode Red Rooster for Old Oak Farm to the reserve championship. The week prior, Wakeman showed at the Winter Equestrian Festival in Florida and won the USEF Show Jumping Talent Search class on Sander, owned by Missy Clark and North Run.

Demi Stiegler dominated the Equitation 14 and Under division after she won the flat class and the over fences class. She also finished second in the Show Circuit Medal and was fourth in the ASPCA Maclay class.

Tina DiLandri won the WIHS Equitation class after she won the jumper phase. She was second in the WCE Medal.

Assistant trainer Kasey Ament rode various horses from Karen Healey Stables to top ribbons in the 1.35m to 1.45m Jumpers.

The winner of the USEF Show Jumping Talent Search class was Hannah Selleck of Thousand Oaks, CA. She rode her horse Bella to victory. On her jumper Bauer, Selleck was eighth in the $5,000 1.45m Jumper Classic. Selleck is currently in second place in points after the first trial for the Zone 10 "A" team for the North American Junior Young Riders Championships.

Samantha Harrison rode Santika to second place in the High Junior/Amateur-Owner Jumpers. On her equitation horse Triple Lutz, she was fifth overall in the WIHS Equitation, second on the flat in the Equitation 15-17 division, and third over fences in the division.

Also in the Equitation 15-17 was Alex Block, who finished second over fences. She finished fourth in the CPHA medal, fifth in the USEF Junior Medal, and sixth in the ASPCA Maclay class as well.

After a bad car accident on the 405 freeway in California, rider Katie Gardner returned to the horse show to compete. Luckily, she was not injured in the crash and was able to show in the High Junior/Amateur-Owner Jumper Classic. She finished fourth in the $5,000 classic with Action G. Karen Healey Stables would like to praise Katie on her success and perseverance and is thankful that she was unhurt in the accident.

Karen Healey Stables will compete next at the Oaks Blenheim Spring Classic 2 Horse Show on April 2-6, 2008.
