Karen Healey Stables Continues Success through Second Week of HITS Desert Circuit

Thermal, CA - February 5, 2009 - Karen Healey Stables continued to win during the second week of HITS Desert Circuit in Thermal, CA, this past week on January 27 to February 1. Healey's talented group of horses and riders maintained their winning momentum, topping classes and championships throughout the week.

One of the most successful riders out of Karen Healey Stables this week was 16-year-old Navona Gallegos of Santa Fe, NM. Gallegos rode John Huggins' horse Drossana to the tricolor win in the High Junior Jumpers with first and third places finishes in the division. Gallegos also had a third place finish in the division with Acrobat. In the USEF Talent Search Medal, Gallegos piloted Class Action to a fourth place finish, and the pair also placed sixth overall in the WIHS Equitation Classic. Gallegos continued her successful week riding Cortes 7, placing third and first in the Equitation 16-17 division and coming in first place in the Central Equine Medal. Acrobat, Class Action, and Cortes 7 are all owned by Bar X Ranch, LLC.

Another winning rider for Karen Healey Stables this week was Kristi Siam of Chatsworth, CA. Siam won the award for Best Adult Rider after some great wins during the week's competition. In the PCHA 35 and Over Medal class, Siam rode her horse Krosus to the first place win. The pair also took top honors in the Ariat National Adult Medal and placed first, third and fifth in the Low Amateur-Owner Hunter division.

Tammy Chipko of Thousand Oaks, CA, had a winning week, placing first in the High Amateur-Owner Jumpers with her horse Enrique. Also riding in that division for Karen Healey Stables was Lauren Kay, who rode her horse Damiro 21 to first and eighth place finishes.

Jocelyn Neff of Newport Beach, CA, had a good week competing in the equitation and jumper divisions. Neff piloted Lord Loxley, owned by Liza Finsness, to a second place finish in the Equitation 16-17 Under Saddle. The pair also placed fifth in both the USEF Hunter Seat Medal and ASPCA Horsemanship Medal classes and was third in the CPHA Hunter Seat Junior Medal. Other wins for Neff and Lord Loxley this week include the overall win in the WIHS Equitation Classic, with a second place finish in the hunter phase and a first place finish in the jumper phase. Neff also did the jumpers, placing seventh in the $10,000 Junior/Amateur-Owner Jumper High Classic with Golden Flip, who she also rode to a sixth place finish in the High Junior Jumpers. Neff was also seventh in that division with Blue Shot Baco.

Callie Selchau also had a good week for Karen Healey Stables, riding Coretto, owned by Karen Ball, to a third place finish in the Central Equine Junior Medal class. She also rode North Star, owned by Allison LaJoie, to a second in the Modified Junior Jumpers and a fourth in the Low Junior Jumpers.

Hannah Bibb was also a winner this week. Bibb rode in the Equitation 16-17 division, placing first in the under saddle class and sixth over fences with her horse, Regatton.

Holly Dickinson had the ride on Beckham, owned by HMG Farms, in the USEF Hunter Seat Medal class and came away with the third place finish during the week. Dickinson also rode Beckham to eighth place in the USEF Talent Search Medal and a fifth place in the WIHS Equitation Classic Jumper phase, for a seventh place in the Classic overall.

Tina DiLandri of La Jolla, CA, was successful in Thermal with rides on four horses this week. DiLandri rode R.S.V.P., owned by Highpoint Farm, LLC, to an overall fifth place in the WIHS Equitation Classic, placing sixth in the hunter phase and second in the jumper phase. DiLandri and R.S.V.P. were also third in the ASPCA Horsemanship Medal. Other rides for DiLandri included thirds and one fourth in the Small Junior Hunters 16-17 division with Smitten, owned by Stephanie Danhakl, a fourth place finish in the High Junior Jumpers with Chanel 292, owned by Highpoint Farm, LLC, and a third place finish in the Low Junior Jumpers with Lancer Farm's Condor, owned by Lancer Farm.

Demi Stiegler had a good week, placing in the ribbons in every class of the Small Junior Hunter 15 and Under division with Violet Hill, owned by Citrus Hill Farms, LLC. The pair was also eighth in the $1,000 Small Junior Hunter Classic.

Grace Shelton rode her horse Lanos to fifth, sixth, and seventh place finishes in the Equitation 14-15 division. Shelton also rode Lanos in the Large Junior Hunter 15 and under division, placing in the ribbons in every jumping class with third, fourth and fifth place finishes. The pair also competed in the THIS National Child Medal class, placing eighth.

Mackenzie Baker competed in the Children's Jumper 16-17 division with her horse Corelejo, finishing with two third place ribbons and one fifth. The pair also rode in the $2,500 Marshall and Sterling Child Jumper Classic, finishing seventh.

Acrobat, owned by Bar X Ranch, LLC, not only had a good week with rider Navona Gallegos, the horse also put in a strong performance with Kasey Ament, finishing fourth in the $500 Hidden Creek Farm Level 6 Jumper class.

Other jumper success for the week included Elizabeth Dickinson and Bailey's VH Meulenhof, owned by HMG Farms, who finished fourth in the $5,000 Low Junior/Amateur-Owner Jumper Classic.

The final rider out of Karen Healey Stables to have a successful week in Thermal was Alexandra Block. Block was reserve champion of the Large Junior Hunters 16-17 with All That, owned by Tammy Chipko, after winning two of the division classes. She also won the $1,000 Large Junior Hunter Classic and put in a seventh place finish in the ASPCA Horsemanship Medal class with her horse Cadillac Jack. Other finishes for Block include a sixth place ribbon in the $1,000 Modified Junior/Amateur Jumper Classic with her horse Kool Shoes.

Karen Healey Stables hopes to continue its success at the HITS Desert Circuit as the show moves into its third week of competition, February 3 through February 8, 2009.
